If you are 50 or over...

(light hearted!)

do you own (and use) a dishwasher? DP and I were looking at self-catering properties and he's happy to pick one without a dishwasher. For me there's no way I'll be washing the dishes by hand. We've both over 50 and there's no way I'll do any 'manual work' unless it's absolutely necessary! Especially while on holiday. I love our dishwasher and I put pretty much any kitchen item in it unless it's electrical or wooden (although wooden spoons and spatulas do go in).

If you're 50 or over, how keen are you on your dishwasher? Would you be happy to live in a home without one? Or go on holiday where you have to do the washing up?

Over 60

Live on my own so there’s not much to wash up.
Never had a dishwasher as kitchen too small.

If I have access to a dishwasher on holiday it’s a vaguely nice add on, but not that likely to even use it with only being my plates to wash.

In my mid 50s and wouldn't be without our dishwasher (although as we're currently in the throes of a DIY house remodel including new kitchen our new one isn't plumbed in yet), despite only two of us at home.

We almost settled for a slimline model but decided to rejig the design to fit in a standard size, foregoing some storage to do so.

We've had one since we were late 30s - actually decided to get one after staying at a holiday cottage with one back then 😉
