Would you spend £500 on a 3 night break?

We are going away for our summer holiday beginning of June but at the minute with this depressing weather have been looking at short breaks.
We have found one £500 for 2 of us all inclusive for 3 nights (we don’t arrive till 8pm first night ) but flight home isn’t till 8.20pm
So we would get 2 full days in Tenerife and till around 4pm on last day.
Obviously we would need spending money so probably spend £700 including hotel.
Would you spend that much for 3 nights?
Temps are showing 18-19-20 but I know in the sun it will feel warmer
Help a girl out …is it worth it ?

That's not bad, flights, hotel and AI! Xx

ChubbyPuffling · 27/02/2026 21:22

For us it would be more than £500... dog into kennels £100, transport to airport £70 each way, food £25 on each travel day. Its the incidental crap that adds to any holiday, making short breaks proportionally more expensive.

BillieWiper · 27/02/2026 21:28

If you can afford it and think you'll enjoy it then yes. Go for it. I'm not mad on the idea of AI and would probably just get a low budget basic room and eat and drink outside and try and find slightly less touristy places (yeah I know, good luck with that. Ideally I'd have a friend with me who knew the area well or lived there) 😄

Lotsalotsagiggles · 27/02/2026 21:49

Which hotel?. Is it all Inclusive?

We went to Los gigantes for Xmas and was a lot warmer than any of the weather sites said

tooloololoo · 27/02/2026 21:59

Yes so cheap
i spent 5k on a 5 night break in Dubai

00deed1988 · 27/02/2026 22:12

Yep. Absolutely if you have the disposable income. Going to Dublin for £700 (4 of us) for 2 nights next week. £1800 for disneyland in April. Managed 2 days in Milan for £200 last month which was a bargain (2 of us). I prioritise breaks away! I work extra shifts to do it. I did all inclusive with for 4 of us in Fuerteventura in October and pretty much stayed on the resort and local beach and only spent £200 so reckon you can get away with less spending money! Enjoy! Also the weather often shows lower in Tenerife than it actually is!

Chesapeakeshores · 27/02/2026 22:26

I spend £500 for 3 nights in the UK!

Alwayswonderedwhy · 27/02/2026 22:47

Does that include flights? Sounds suspiciously cheap but if you've checked the reviews and are happy with it then go for it.

Idontcareboutthestateofmyhair · 27/02/2026 23:16

Just spent 780 on a 3 night in Skye. Good deal on hotel but food/drinks etc bumped it up. We're Scottish and wouldn't dream of going to Skye in summer unfortunately due to mass tourism. But fyi same hotel in July is 580 a night!
Think you've got a bargain for a bit of sun! 😁

CoastalCalm · 28/02/2026 00:00

consider that on the last day they may strip your all inclusive band at checkout early in the morning - 8.20 flight isn’t too bad though , I hate sitting around til after midnight just waiting to get transport

hollyandribbon · 28/02/2026 00:04

I’ve paid that for one night in the UK, I think it depends on what you can afford? I would think that was a bargain OP but of course it depends on circumstance.

Readyforarest · 28/02/2026 00:05

We've just booked two nights in a Premier Inn for Easter. I'm sure once we've factored in meals and attraction tickets for three days we will be close to that figure so I'd say that is a bargain!

caringcarer · 28/02/2026 02:11

I don't think I'd fly overseas for less than 5 days but if you want the holiday and can afford it just book it and go. It's only too much if you can't afford it. Only you know if you really just need that break to recharge.

springtome · 28/02/2026 03:41

We are going away in the UK next week and just the hotel is I think £650. So yes, yes I would 😂

we were looking to go abroad next week and was looking at £900 plus all food and drink so £500 all inclusive is a bargain.

Womaninhouse17 · 28/02/2026 04:33

I'm single and quite mean but I would spend that! It sounds very reasonable to me. (It's costing me over £300 for a 3 night break in the UK this year in a very unposh hotel.)

PinterandPirandello · 28/02/2026 04:35

North Tenerife is much cooler than the South and the weather channels often report the temperatures at the airport. Los Gigantes will be warm and sunny as it’s in the South. However, personally, I wouldn’t fly as far as the Canaries for what is essentially two days once you get there. Los Gigantes isn’t very nice, I think you’d have been better off going to mainland Spain to a nicer place like Valencia or Murcia.

MissAdvantage · 28/02/2026 05:02

Just spent 3.5k on 5 days in Abu Dhabi for some heat - so yes

Freud2 · 28/02/2026 08:30

lulu55xxx · 26/02/2026 09:02

It’s los gigantes
We have never been to this area before

I have been there - it's lovely.

You wouldn’t get the weather in mainland Spain at this time of year though. My family live in Valencia and it’s been mainly cold, wet and windy for weeks!

Echobelly · 28/02/2026 09:00

£500 is pretty good value for 3 nights abroad IMO, you'd have a fairly hard time spending less.

Yes. Also, north Tenerife is far less touristy, more green and (I think) more interesting and scenic than the south. Depends what you want from a holiday.

Thevalueofeverythingandthecostofnothing · 28/02/2026 12:44

Los Gigantes is fab, or at leat it was when I went 55 years ago 🤗

Pickledonion1999 · 28/02/2026 12:47

I've just spent slightly less booking a lodge in a quiet ( hopefully ) Norfolk location to get the dog away from fireworks and Diwali fireworks in November ! Obviously won't include food but does have a nice hot tub !

johnstownflood · 28/02/2026 12:49

I would never go AI in Tenerife, too many great places to eat . Airbnb is better .

Emmylou22 · 26/02/2026 08:56

I spent over £500 on an Oasis ticket last year 😂 That only lasted an evening. Worth it for the memories, though 🙌🏻

That's hilarious 🤣
