Does anyone lend money to small entrepreneurs using lendwithcare?

I've spent some time looking at it this evening and I am quite tempted. It looks like a really good way of helping others for no cost (or at least limited risk). DH thinks its a scam..

Has anyone done it?

Im going to look into it later 😁

What a lovely thread ... off to take a look now

Here's my link if anyone wants to use it and gain the £15 free credit. I have just used my joining bonus for a woman working in agriculture in Palestine. I sincerely hope it helps.

I think I’m going to show DD later and possibly use obe of the links.

Please do use one of the links. It doesn't matter which one since the person sharing their link doesn't benefit but it does mean you get an extra £15 credit which is effectively a free loan. So even if you never invested any of your own money then you've directly helped someone.

The link I put in has been used 6 times also. I'd say we're close to 100 new lenders. Just WOW.

Make that 101!

I've just loaned money to a woman in Cambodia to buy a walking tractor.

I love this it's such a brilliant idea!

NinePoppadomsAndASaagAloo · 23/02/2026 12:47

Thank you for this! I used someone’s link above and have loaned the £15 bonus.

If anyone scrolls down this far without signing up, you can get a £15 bonus with my link here but really it doesn’t matter whose link you use, it’s all good!

Me too! Thanks for sharing. Great idea.

This is such a great initiative. I’ve used your link @Queenage(they must have had an influx of referrals from Mumsnet).

Thanks for bringing it to my attention @User253853

I copied one of the links above but I didn't get the extra £15 as I'd created an account in the past but didn't actually lend, but I've also now contributed to the lady who needs a walking tractor 🙂

tonsattingforbjudes · 23/02/2026 19:50

This is such a wonderful thread.

@waitingforthehallmarkedman Try checking your account. I thought the same had happened to me as I'd signed up in the past but hadn't contributed. Actually the £15 was there. It just didn't show up when I contributed to the first entrepreneur. I've now been able to support another lady. So all good.

Both of the ladies I chose are now fully funded.

clarrylove · 23/02/2026 21:50

I've used the £15 credit and just made my first loan! So happy! Here is my link if anyone wants to use it. https://lendwithcare.org/referral/4CYRJY

Thanks to this thread, I followed the link, signed up and have lent a bit. Annoyingly, whilst the welcome page said I’d get the £15 extra, that was never added on to my funds.

I found mine in the bonus section, not the account credit section.

sallymonella · 24/02/2026 08:14

I cannot tell you how happy it made me yesterday morning to be able to help these women. Thanks again OP!

goodnessidontknow · 24/02/2026 08:49

I'm another who has recently seen this advertised and wondered if it was genuine. Thanks to you lovely lot I've signed up, got the referral bonus and made two loans 😊

tonsattingforbjudes · 24/02/2026 11:11

I've just found a section on the website where a few entrepreneurs are seeking grants. They are all in India or Chad at the moment. The amounts requested are small, often £50-£70. I like the idea of a donation when you know exactly how your money will be used.

Another link for any newcomers for the £15 sign up bonus to make a loan.

Thanks, I've checked and it's still not there. I've sent them an email now to ask them to look into it.

Mine didn’t show up anywhere in my account, but when I chose someone to support and went to the checkout, I scrolled down and it said “£15 bonus credit” or something so I locked that and it took it off my total.

Just used it for another lady and her chicken business.

What an amazing idea, I’ve never heard of this before. I’ll be another new lender shortly….

goodnessidontknow · 24/02/2026 18:09

Both of the loans I made have been fully funded today 😃

ThatsPlentyIsa · 24/02/2026 18:19

I've just lent to a women's collective in Malawi and also sent my aunt a gift donation instead of the usual birthday bunch of flowers; I think she'll really enjoy deciding who to support. The site actually apologised for not having the widest range of projects to choose from, on account of the unexpected surge in interest!
