Does anyone lend money to small entrepreneurs using lendwithcare?

I've spent some time looking at it this evening and I am quite tempted. It looks like a really good way of helping others for no cost (or at least limited risk). DH thinks its a scam..

Has anyone done it?

This is brilliant, I’ve also just lent some money to two women, what an excellent idea.

Costacoffeeplease · 22/02/2026 00:21

I’ve been lending for years - never had a default and just keep reinvesting once I’ve been paid back

I also normally finance women’s projects - small shops, cafes, seamstresses etc which benefit the local community

Costacoffeeplease · 22/02/2026 00:24

Just checked my account and I’ve made 19 with 0 defaults since 2014

Yey! I'm so pleased. I have made two loans. Hope we can also keep raising the profile of the site

Just checked my account, have been doing for over 6 years and the amounts I have put in have been effectively lent 4 times over. No defaults, loss on currency fluctuations less than £10. It is a great Scheme. My view was always repayments great as can lend again and if default then it was ust like a charitable donation. My link is above for the £15 referral credit.
You have done an excellent job OP of raising profile

Ive just invested using a referral code. I've been meaning to for a while so this has given me a kick. TY!

Mama1980 · 22/02/2026 12:07

Yes I’ve done it for a few years. All my pains have been repaid and I reinvest. It’s great

Love this thread - I've also joined, used the £15 free credit and added a bit more - and its giftaidable too ! Three small loans made. Thank you so much for sharing xx

HazelMember · 22/02/2026 18:48

I have also done it for years. No one has defaulted but I wouldn't mind if they did. I add money sometimes but usually reinvest what they pay back.

HazelMember · 22/02/2026 18:49

Thank you for this. Doing some aimless scrolling and stumbled across this thread, now I've loaned money to a woman in Cambodia who has the same name as my daughter.
Feels like something good has happened this evening.

I also signed up with someone’s link, sorry can’t remember whose.

have made two loans now and look forward to seeing their progress.

HazelMember · 22/02/2026 21:02

Thank you to whoever used my referral code ❤

User253853 · 22/02/2026 22:24

I've just seen that one of the people I lent to has just had their loan fully funded which is so lovely. I suspect she's been mainly MN funded!

If anyone is interested you can read the reviews on Trustpilot. A few negatives one for balance. Mostly all good though.

SargeMarge · 22/02/2026 23:03

Thank you for this thread. I’d become disillusioned with a couple of the charities I give to each year, and had been looking for a new one. This is amazing. You can read about who you’re giving to, and then when they pay it back, I can give it to someone else. So I’ve made a couple of loans and hope it helps to make a difference.

I noticed there is also a grants tab, with people looking for a donation to buy something they need so I donated for 2 women to buy cookers. That money doesn’t get repaid but I feel like that is a worthwhile donation and I know where that money has gone and the different that will make. That’s wonderful.

LemonySippet · 22/02/2026 23:25

I'd had adverts for this over the past couple of days but wasn't sure what it was, I'm so glad to read this thread and have signed up with one of the links above and chosen a few loans to make, it was hard to stop once I started reading them!

Here is my link if anyone else wants one: lendwithcare.org/referral/TJYZAT

My Mum has done lendwithcare for years, but you've inspired me to invest too.

SleafordSods · 23/02/2026 07:57

I think I’m going to show DD later and possibly use obe of the links.
