Good Riddance - Green Day

I’d have this at mine. The title is Good Riddance - The time of your life. If you read the lyrics its actually quite good for a send off…

Not a funny pun or anything, but I do think Hallelujah is inappropriate for a funeral due to the fact it seems to be about sex. Especially if sung by a young person or choir. I have heard it at two funerals.

'Be thou my vision' at a Catholic mass with loads of smokey incense.

While waiting at a crematorium a couple of years ago, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead was playing at the previous funeral. I wondered whether they asked for the song from the Wizard of Oz expecting Somewhere over the Rainbow and got that instead.

Tubthumping? I quite fancy hearing 'I get knocked down, but I get up again...' putting the fear of my reappearance into my relatives.

Good Riddance - Green Day

I've actually been to a couple of funerals that have played Good Riddance...I guess lyrically it's quite different to what the title suggests. Personally, Ha Ha You're Dead by Green Day will deffo be sending me out. Hopefully give people a good laugh at least 😂

This one makes me blub even not at a funeral (and Lord of all Hopefulness, which had the same tune)😭
