Thankfully, the local cops do appear to want to do a real investigation. But I fear the feds will twist it some way, to justify raids/crackdowns on something, probably totally unconnected.
The bit that struck me about the reports was this:
"According to Mr Guglielmi, investigators believe he left North Carolina and headed south, picking up a shotgun along the way. The box for the gun was recovered in his vehicle."
The world yells yet again. IT'S THE GUNS STUPID.
Re the feds. For all these years I have dismissed all these right wing anti fed conspiracies. And now it turns out that with the right wing nuts in charge, they are coming true. The irony of that.
And has anyone else had the same thought as me, that Hollywood has been lying to us for years. Films such as "Day of the Jackel", where the assassin is paid millions, drives a sports car, fake passports, custom made guns, exploding ammo, clever disguises and a sex subplot. All fake. It turns out they just pop down to the local gun shop and drive a Honda Civic. And the soundtrack is YMCA.
We need to update our what a fecking State of the Union bingo cards. Another assassination attempt (radical left ?), hospital ship..... and YMCA intro music.
I did notice that he had YMCA playing as the exit music for his Peace Board meeting.
