The headline on my newsfeed said 'Man shot and killed at Mar-a-lago'. I can't express how disappointed I was when I clicked on the link and got more information.

Honestly, Denmark just need to send a massive medical ship/floating hospital to Louisiana right now and just treat US citizens that can’t get healthcare. And shout very loudly that they are doing it to help the Americans.

The Swedish company Stena Roro is the world leader in building hospital ships. They offered one to Denmark during covid. We can dust it off and send it to our mates next door.

And of course most herbal remedies don't actually make anything worse, though St John's Wort combines badly with quite a lot of conventional medication, and ginseng is as my mother said "a well known cure for no known disease".

I am not sure if it is appropriate on this thread, but could I recommend a Netflix film that, for reasons which will become apparent on watching, is gripping. It is an unsettling viewing that really confronts the post Trump era and how toxic and divisive politics have become. There was a very limited release in the US for obvious reasons despite excellent reviews and a star studded cast. It's not just a movie, it's a warning!

Anyway it is called 'Anniversary'. Really worth watching and an important film.

So, this Tuesday is the SOTU.

As always, I'm conflicted as to watch or no watch. Part of me says I'd rather watch the 'Red Wedding' on autorepeat than watch the SOTU, and since I hate 'gore' that's saying something. The other part says 'forewarned is forearmed' and make up my mind to grit my teeth and watch.

I'll probably end up doing the usual. Listen for a bit, then feel my blood pressure rise at the mere sound of his voice so put on closed caption & mute. Then my blood pressure will rise again at simply reading his words and since I don't want to break my TV by throwing a heavy object at his face, give in and switch to another channel. Flick back and forth until he's done & the commentary on MSnow is on. No one tears him to shreds quite like Rachel & Co.

Not only in the US. I am seeing this in my own friendship groups where more extreme religious conservatism is starting to lead to some eye opening opinions. Looking back at certain personalities, it was probably inevitable. One person in particular, travels regularly to TX and stays for months at a time.

Denmark doesn't need to do that. It's a perfect health system than remains post Greenland leaving the EU and getting autonomy from Denmark. Also in place is EU citizenship and the same currency as Denmark - the Krone. Denmark doesn't have the Euro.

Remember Greenland is the only other country that left the EU along with The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I wasn’t suggesting they should do it for their benefit. Mostly for enraging and showing up Trump and amusing everyone else.
