A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙 🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Same. He gets a lot of positivity in the comments. Too late now, everyone went for Starmer.

Not everyone but still people believed the nonsense sold.

The Labour lot don't mention him much in their anti-tory rants. They know that he is a decent man, and was a good PM. Better than Starmer will ever be.

There’s a couple still but no surprises given the Tory obsession but agree even Starmer knows he can’t mention him in his lies.

Such a shame, and the media too took him out, the Labour wails of it’s the media who hate us ignore all that, and that they whipped it up for him too.

TheNuthatch · 21/02/2026 10:16

Yep, very true.

Reform are leading in the polls, as you predicted. I hope they will reflect on the tory bashing when Farage walks into No.10.

I also miss Rishi 😔 what a wasted opportunity for the country.

I wonder if Reclaim will dent the Reform percentage much?

"The power of the printed word." Too many people blindly believe everything they read in the popular press. Critical thinking and a healthy dose of cynicism has never been more important than it is now when our very culture is seemingly under attack.

Sometimes I wonder how many so-called journalists take heed of the Canons of Journalism.

Which one is Reclaim? I'm confused by all the offshoots. Have we got Reclaim, Restore, Advance and Reform now? Or have I got mixed up?

It's Restore! You're right and I'm confused, I can't keep up 😆

I can't keep up either.

I imagine Starmer might want to pay an official visit to the homelessness charity that Sunak has donated his money to. Starmer could go in one of his freebie suits and wear his freebie glasses. He’d look ever so smart as he shows off in front of the camera at a site built on another man’s generosity and decency.

On the right-wing splinter groups, the damage is the perception that Reform and its sympathisers look like a fractious bunch of clowns - like the perennial splitting that the left enjoys so much. It’s not so much about draining votes away as the impression that Reform is full of uncontrollable ambition and spite. Since I reject Reform, I’m content with that.

strawberrybubblegum · 21/02/2026 11:40

I'm really happy that Rushi Sunak is so involved in the future of in AI. He already did a lot of good in that arena when PM.

Whilst it would have been great for the UK if he had continued as PM, he may end up doing even more important long-term good outside that role.

And I agree that he seems to be a really good person.

The gov wants to remove Andrew from the line of succession.
It feels window dressing to me and a total waste of time and money. Yes stranger things have happened but what's the reality of Andrew being king.
I think money and focus should go to bringing these girls justice and pushing those selling out the nation .

I totally agree that ‘money and focus should go to bringing these girls justice and pushing those selling out the nation’.

At the same time I think that Andy needs to be quietly removed from the los and any titles / benefits removed from his ex wife and kids (not just ‘not used’). Same for Harry. Neither of them bring anything to the uk. In fact they both take, as so many others do.

No fuss just paperwork and a letter in the post.

Leaving us with a slimmed down monarchy whose members are (or seem to be) credible and valid. Good for tourism and bringing money in. Part of British history and culture, we’re already being watered down it needs to stop. And the royals need to be clean as whistles.

JaneVtwaddle · 21/02/2026 12:27

@peacefulpeach but to remove him will cost legal fees time and money.

I can't put Harry ,whose tragic childhood in major dysfunction in any way shape or form in the same boat as the Molly cuddled oafish spoilt giant baby who is Andrew whom managed to get to old age with two parents very much together and stable and alive and mummy still having his disgusting back into her 90s.

In total, 1,028 councillors have now signed up to "uphold the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people" and ensure their council is not complicit in what they claim are "Israel's violations of international law", such as divesting from pension funds invested in arms companies.

The pledge was launched by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign - the group behind many of the protest marches in support of the Palestinian cause - and supported by four other organisations, the Palestinian Youth Movement Britain, the Palestinian Forum in Britain, The Muslim Vote and the British Palestinian Committee.

Nothing to do with the upcoming local elections of course.

Yeah but it’d be a negligible cost in the grand scheme of things. Get rid.

Ofc Harry isn’t in the same boat as Andy in terms of being a disgusting man who had sex with young girls, was friends with a billionaire known paedo, and allegedly gave him secret state info from which he made more money.

However Harry is a waste of space, publicly criticising his family yet he and his wife continue to profit from their name. And demand the uk tax payers pay for them in this country. Whilst doing nothing for this country. So get rid of them too.

JaneVtwaddle · 21/02/2026 12:45

@peacefulpeach I think we will beg to differ there !
Harry has suffered a great deal being forced to serve his country from birth in role he never asked for !
As a country we should be rallying behind him and think what it must have been like to have to face school friends after your parents both admitted adultery on national TV ,your dad wrote a tell all book about his upbringing and then having to have Charles tell at 12 your mother has suddenly died in a horrific and non sensical way so he couldn't even take any comfort in a painless death no comfort in a swift death no comfort in a death that couldn't have been avoided !
Then raking over her corpse and memory with tales of fake engagements and pregnancy !!
Then burrel stealing her stuff. Fayed and all the rest and that all without even the pain of Camilla !

peacefulpeach · 21/02/2026 12:48

@JaneVtwaddle ok yes we’ll agree to disagree!

Let’s continue to agree in not liking the Labour Party.. (I think we agree on that anyway!) 🙃

peacefulpeach · 21/02/2026 16:11

God. Is anyone else watching the rugby? Depressing.

Well, unless you’re Irish ☘️!!

Julen7 · 21/02/2026 16:53

Shocking wasn’t it. I don’t follow it closely but what is the matter with England?

LupaMoonhowl · 21/02/2026 18:24

I always ask my other half (serious rugby person) to predict the scores but today he refused as this 6N is producing lots of jokers.
Interestingly the bookies had England as odds/on to win…

EmeraldRoulette · 21/02/2026 22:15

I feel like my prediction of what would be discussed over the next few days - a few days ago - turned out pretty well 😊 although I didn't see a certain arrest coming!

In "totally random news that no one asked for" - X/Twitter (I still hate calling it X) has a brand-new advert for me.

Apparently, it's for a male chastity belt.

just....what?! I didn't click on it 😂😂

38thparallel · 22/02/2026 16:52

I agree with all the criticism of Andrew but nonetheless I thinking the gloating and revelling in his downfall is pretty grim too.
It’s similar to people put in the stocks.

InterestQ · 22/02/2026 17:47

I thought Rishi was doing well - he and Hunt were an understated, get on with it dream team. And Starmer liked Rishi too. He said so. I dare say we won’t see a comeback (you’d have to be such masochist if you were Rishi) but it would be very soothing.

Andrew. What a fucking mess. I do think the Press are hoping HARD that he’ll die by suicide and make it really exciting. I’m so bored of his disgusting stupidity and entitlement and ever more eye rolling stories. But if you think Royalty and a monarchy have a place, you get the good with the bad. It’s not the X Factor and you can’t vote Andrew off the show. You can just turn the spotlight to nothing. I don’t agree with messing with the line of succession. We get what we get.

Prosecute him if there are grounds (there must be!) but don’t waste time over stopping something that will realistically never come to pass.

the US using our bases will surely be the next u turn. I haven’t looked much today but perhaps it already is! Trump won’t like it. And what’s the point?
