Just caught a bit of the Winter Olympics on TV and was reminded of the one and only time I tried skiing. It was one of the worst and most terrifying experiences of my life and I will definitely not, never, ever be doing it again!!

Ditto, my only experience of scuba diving .... still having nightmares years later!!!!!

Both these activities are on my "Tried it once but never again" list. Anyone else got a Never Again experience?

White water rafting...hard work, terrifying and cold

Yoga - set my labyrinthitis off. Threw up all over my mat and had to be manhandled out of the room. Couldn’t walk in a straight line - couldn’t drive. DH had to come for me. He was convinced I was pissed!

As someone who went skiing and skating most nights after school and weekends when lived in Norway, love the winter olympics as reminds me of happy time. I have a real soft spot for watching the ice skating!

Hated snorkeling, kept half drowning myself as the waves kept lapping up. Never tried scuba, seemed too claustrophobic. I got dressed up in my b/f's deep sea diving gear once, but chickened out last moment, even being in that helmet freaked me out.

I've flown light aircraft, been in helicopters and gliders. Been rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing as a teenager, loved it all, every moment.

Now? Wouldn't do any of it, got frightened of heights as got older. I wouldn't do any of that now, even if paid to, I don't even like looking over the sides of high buildings.

I've skiied since I was 4 and scuba dived over 20yrs so they aren't on my list.

Cannabis is though- Tried it a few times but never again. I was super paranoid, thought everyone was the police and there were spy cameras all over the house. I thought I'd get in trouble for trying a spliff 😬

Go Karting.

Hated it, just loathed every second. And I usually quite like driving.

Flinging myself out of a plane. I stil feel queasy and it was 23 years ago.

This is a while ago now, but there were quite a few 'baby classes' I tried (baby sing song, baby sensory, baby yoga). Each i only did once. Just so cringe and realised that dealing with a room full of babies is FAR worse than just managing my own (chaos!). And DS always did a massive shit half way through.

I did a French go ape style course and it was absolutely terrifying - couldn’t keep up with my athletic dd and spent the entire time panicking whilst she rushed on ahead called me “boring” for being too slow (I got stuck on a zip line that sagged in the middle and I had to haul myself up by my arms).

And that was only the advanced level - dd then sulked because i refused to attempt the “extreme course”.

No one had fun.

Just remembered - Golf. Harder than it looks, one day and horrific backache as a reward.
And shooting. Hated guns, always have and was made to go to a shooting range to obtain an award. All the guns going off, I threw my loaded gun down (facing forward, lol), got rightfully a bollocking, and then I pointed out I'd not wanted to come in the first place and asked several times not to.

I actually thought that that’s what the thread was going to be about when I read the title. (I imagine that was just me bringing my personal feelings into the equation though).

Step aerobics. My lack of coordination was dragging. I then tripped and landed on the step. No thanks

Yes! I can’t do downward dog without coming out in a cold sweat and retching for hours afterwards. No idea how people find it relaxing!

Abseiling. It was bloody terrifying. Kids in front of me disappearing over the edge with no fear. The instructor had to hold my hand to get me started as I started crying trying to do it myself. I think because it looked so easy I assumed I could just hoist myself over & then I'd bounce down in a few seconds. In reality the getting started was the worst bit & after that it was about half an hour feeding the rope through & walking my feet down at a snail's pace, all the while trying not to look down & wondering when the whole torturous episode would be over

Glad you posted this as it was the only thing I could think of that I really don’t wish to ever do again. That, and maybe “going to the races” zzzzzz

Windsurfing. I nearly headed out to America and had to be rescued by the instructor.

Acid, I laughed my arse off in the safety of my friends flat. She, however, was having an absolute nightmare on the next sofa, apparently. The next day, realising that could have been me and you have no way of telling, I decided never again.
