Still stuck with the beer. Barrelness? Beerness?

There's a specific name for a small barrel.

I now have this one! So just the locked shed to get. Other than padlock and combination lock I can't think of any other locks that you might put on a shed.

It’s not a lock in the sense of using a key, more of a sliding mechanism .
I’m sure you’ll rapidly sprint to the answer…..

Aaargh, still stuck! The only lock I can think of is a combination lock.

Seainasive · 02/02/2026 15:03

think about a garden gate, or perhaps a stable door instead of a shed.

EtonMessy · 02/02/2026 15:33

Still can’t get the chicken one, don’t know the app.
edit to say just got it with a guess.
41/40

I can see in my head the sort of sliding lock you'd have on a garden gate but have no clue what they are called

RichardMarxisinnocent · 02/02/2026 15:36

Oh! I might have just remembered!

RichardMarxisinnocent · 02/02/2026 15:37

Yes! 41/40. That was hard work

zzpled · 02/02/2026 09:38

@ErrolTheDragon - the thing that looks like a cross between a phone and a typewriter is a fax machine. Which is really all you need to know for that clue!

Like I said, I knew I’d be kicking myself! Thanks.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/02/2026 17:07

thats 40, I think I’m missing the football match still.
The last one I got was the talking pigs - yesterday I’d come up with an alternative which imo is as good a pun as some of the genuine answers (swineshead - ie swine said).

HussyOfTheCulDeSac · 02/02/2026 17:11

Ahhh - got the chefs - can’t believe it took me so long 😂

is it a specific football team? I literally couldn’t care less about football if I tried so I have no idea which team that is 😂

No idea. I had to google the two individual football players.

zzpled · 02/02/2026 18:00

I've redone the whole thing on a large screen and counted the number of clues - there are 41, not 40 as stated.

I think someone said to Google England football number 10 and you’ll see a surname name that is also a place name. It helped that I was familiar with it as a place so it suddenly seemed easy.

That’s a different clue.

Seainasive · 02/02/2026 19:28

So the football game: it helps to know that both teams are local

GreenRedFlowers · 02/02/2026 20:00

There are so many that are ridiculous.... spoilers

spoilers...

but the worst were

Leighton Buzzard (it's just stupid because it's Lay -ton pronounciation)
Ascott under Wychwood (who on earth has heard of this unless you live there? I mean it's hardly King's Cross is it?)

I couldn't get the man drawing ants even when I saw the answers. by a process of elimination I worked it out but that was very very poor.

Whoever came up with these should hang their head in shame.

MindaBelinda · 02/02/2026 20:50

ErrolTheDragon · 02/02/2026 19:12

You are correct sorry!

squashyhat · 03/02/2026 08:09

Are the swans a clue?

Seainasive · 03/02/2026 08:29

They are, and they make a shape

EmeraldRoulette · 03/02/2026 10:17

Let's just say, I did not get nearly as far as most of you!

And being honest, I hadn't heard of a few of the stations.

Some of the clues are oddly grouped so I was looking at only one part of the clue.

I haven't looked at the answers properly, just had a quick glimpse because I thought I was done but maybe I'm not- can someone please provide a clue about the tattoo one? I thought that I had it, but there isn't a station by that.

zzpled · 03/02/2026 12:41

@EmeraldRoulette - The tattoo clue is probably somewhere you've never heard of. The word being inked is part of the clue, but of no help if you don't know the name of the station. Probably best to use the webpage of all station names that someone linked to up-thread. Look for stations beginning with T for tattoo.

EmeraldRoulette · 03/02/2026 13:02

@zzpled thanks
You're right, I've never heard of it!

lemondropsandchimneytops · 03/02/2026 19:11

I'm not if there's already been a clue about the footballer with the strawberry? I still can't get it. I know very little about football!

Red football strip suggests he plays for Arsenal, whose nickname is The Gunners. Use the webpage that lists all station names to work it out from there.
