A pro Trump thread to balance the 154 anti Trump threads!

Carpediemtoday · 29/01/2026 17:46

Thought I’d be brave and start a pro-Trump thread for a change, after all, there are so many anti-Trump ones , we need some balance!
I even tried commenting on an anti-Trump thread today… and wow, just kept being told to go away, my comments were not well received. Honestly, I feel honoured to feel as if I have been officially deported, what an achievement!😂

I used to be pretty neutral about Trump. Never pro or against. But this second term sealed it for me in all the decisions he's made, starting from the 'unelected ex-president Elon Musk'.

Trump is ...I don't even have words but I'll say that he needs lots of diagnosis. He and all the other old farts should really get off the seat of power and let those with proven good morals and balanced principles lead for a change. Sadly those are the people who actually stay away from politics.

SeriousFaffing · 29/01/2026 18:28

What did Joe Biden do?

  1. (Actually) improved the economy and affordability*
  2. affordable healthcare*
  3. supported Ukraine*
  4. wasn’t a fat Nixon*

*Unlike Donald Trump.

MrsArcher23 · 29/01/2026 18:29

I wish I could say that I’d love to read your list of his achievements but supporting Trump is no longer a matter of politics, it’s a matter of morality.

Petrine · 29/01/2026 18:31

I think there are a lot of people here (and obviously the many thousands of US citizens who voted for him) that admire Donald Trump… I’m one of them.

That said, I can’t be bothered to argue with the anti-Trump brigade here.

Carpediemtoday · 29/01/2026 18:01

Well unlike a lot of politicians he is actually achieving a lot of what he said he promised he would do during his campaign.

He has done more in his first year than Biden achieved in 4 years. Anybody remember what he achieved after 4 years?

Can you be more specific about what Trump has achieved?

What do you admire about Trump?

Then why don’t you tell us what positive things he has done before you go.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 29/01/2026 18:35

You still haven't managed to mention a single good thing he's done, OP. Hint: 'achieving all the things he said he was going to do' is not a positive unless those things were actually good things.

expatme · 29/01/2026 18:40

Wherever has the OP gone? Maybe they're at a screening of the Melania movie

And he really has bought great unity to many nations.

We all are united in thinking he's a complete prat and watching in astonishment that there were so many Americans prepared to vote for him.

So true

And you think that him achieving his ambitions is a good thing??

I admired his business acumen from the days of Apprentice when i started watching him to Celebrity Apprentice, before the UK version started. I thought he was quite fair and a good strategist and probably still is in business. However he's running the US like HIS business. The country isn't his company. He has no business being in politics let alone being the president. He's like a child in this regard.

What is it you find so admirable? I’m genuinely curious.

soddingspiderseason · 29/01/2026 18:43

Why?

Witchyvibes · 29/01/2026 18:44

Can you be specific about what the pro’s are? So far you’re not so much pro-Trump as anti-democrat. There’s so much divide between the 2 parties based not on actual performance but reflexive hate. Parkergetajob on instagram is great at talking through actual facts. But you started this thread, either follow through with specific, fact-checked pros, or you’re going to be written off as someone desperately craving attention through conflict…..

Ponderingwindow · 29/01/2026 18:45

So your argument is that he is an incredibly effective fascist dictator?

I think he was good at playing a businessman, while in reality bankrupting 4 businesses (6, if you include Chapter 11), including a casino, which is virtually impossible.

Myoldbear · 29/01/2026 18:46

Why do people who call themselves bible believing Christians like Trump?
It seems like such a contradiction.

You and the other 99% of respondents to this thread prove that it most certainly does 😂😂😂

This is Mumsnet, most of us are women and we tend to have very strong feelings about sex offenders. Donald Trump is a serial sex offender.

It's not deranged to loathe sex offenders. In fact I think its pretty deranged to support them.Hmm

I honestly can’t contemplate being so openly comfortable advertising such stupidity and ignorance. Op, are you ok

This, absolutely. Be fair, people!!! He ended eight-plus wars. If you don't believe this then tell me why he won a peace prize from an organisation that arranges football matches and corrupt business deals??

And the OP's concern for balance is admirable. I'm off to start a positive thread about nappy rash.
