Thought I’d be brave and start a pro-Trump thread for a change, after all, there are so many anti-Trump ones , we need some balance!
I even tried commenting on an anti-Trump thread today… and wow, just kept being told to go away, my comments were not well received. Honestly, I feel honoured to feel as if I have been officially deported, what an achievement!😂

But no matter I think. Because if Trump does actually do anything good and impressive, I am sure there will be a pro trump thread number 2. It will be here in 2 weeks. You can bet on it. Or just watch Polymarket for any big bets. That's a good way to predict things under Trump.

Not wanting in the least to get at you, but this is something I had to stop and work out, and I may not be the only one who has had problems understanding it. Confusion between thread, page and post runs all through the board, and people will quite often write for instance of "starting a new post".

The thread linked to is the 167th thread about Trump, not the 167th page. (Each thread contains 2000 posts.) So there have been thirteen more threads started since then, not thirteen more pages.

The number of pages per thread, unlike the number of posts, is up to the user: in your settings you can choose to see 25, 50, 100, 500, or 1000 posts per page within a thread. I have mine set at 50 posts per page, 40 pages per thread, because that's when I find easiest. It seems that seeing the whole thread as a single entity with no individual pages is not a popular option; at one point Mumsnet considered putting everyone onto that setting and we found out how many people would leave if they were not allowed to have their old setting back.

I think each thread closes when it reaches 1,000 posts. So since the Trump-critical threads started, in late 2015/early 2016, if I recall correctly, there have been 167,000 posts on MN documenting and commenting on his madness on this series of threads alone. Obviously, they slowed down during the Biden years.
