A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Describing his "witch hunt" against Iraq veterans is currently at the top.

I am horrified by this. Especially Starmer’s involvement with solicitor Shiner who has been struck off for causing untold harm to British soldiers.

The government team are using "burner phones" and notebooks due to security fears 😲

I think that’s always been the case. I’ve heard it mentioned for years that you have to assume, as a diplomat/MP, that everywhere you go in China will be bugged.

peacefulpeach · 28/01/2026 11:05

Iran. Where’s the left’s outrage? Where are the protests? Silence.

Gift link for the article (I hope). It’s horrific how these men have worked, and continue to work, against the British state and its citizens.

"The now Prime Minister worked free of charge alongside his close ally, Lord Hermer, now the Attorney General, and the now disgraced solicitor Phil Shiner on a human rights claim in 2007 that reshaped the law governing troops in war zones."

Starmer led ‘witch-hunt’ against Iraq veterans

Prime Minister’s human rights case opened the door to hundreds of soldiers being persecuted

I’m not inclined to attack Starmer for his involvement in any of those (failed, disgraceful) cases. I don’t know what his role was.

But, generally, it is fucking loathsome that Starmer would give it large about military commitment and sacrifice - as he did recently after Trump commented - while his government removes veterans’ legal protection.

Starmer is such a pig of a man. A two-faced, cowardly little shit only out for himself.

Agreed Peach. I'm following what I can on Touzi. We have shared information on this thread, what there is of it. Posts appear on twitter and are quickly deleted like in a couple of minutes. I hope it's because other countries are working quietly to help Iran and don't want any leaks. To this end the media and X are censoring information.

This doesn't worry me, the safer Iran's allies are the more they can do for it's people.

TheNuthatch · 28/01/2026 13:24

Kemi's speech and press conference was brilliant this morning. Good to see her looking so confident. 👏

Trump has been posting about Iran. The armada is close. Tousi reported yesterday that the regime are piling bodies of civilians in military bases, so they can be counted as civilian casualties if there are strikes.
Also reports that China have been supplying Iran with air defences recently.

To be fair, I'd completely expect that to be standard practice for government officials going to a country like China.

It's very common for even normal companies to not allow laptops to be taken there.

More lies from Labour.

They posted on X a video of Matt Goodwin and did some bbc style editing to make it look as though he was criticising Manchester. He was actually describing a tory party conference.

Are there no electoral rules about spreading falsehoods about your opponents? 🤔

I don't know, but this is spreading disinformation. Perhaps Starmer has his eye on the top job at the bbc when he's booted out of No.10.

Are there any rules on MN for posters copying gifted articles from this thread onto another thread for the purpose of scoffing? 🤔 Embarrassing.

Very few flights into Tehran checking flight radar the last couple of weeks but the ones that are landing at night are from Bangkok, Istanbul or Beijing. I did think China at the time.

I heard the news about China supplying air defences to the IRG from an interview today with the former UK ambassador to Iran.
Tousi shared recently that Russia were pulling their citizens out too.

I didn't realise that the IRG are in Africa. Belt and braces China anyone

Really? Bloody hell.
Good job Starmer is in China then as the armada assumes position in the ME eh.
A Lib Dem MP used a question at PMQs to ask why the govt haven't proscribed the IRG. Of course Lammy 🤡 dodged the question.
