The cold final rinse is done to give your hair more shine...apparently!
The avon bottles of aftershave my DF used to have...in the shape of a locomotive, ship, plane...
So many things on here that I can relate to and it's made me feel so nostalgic for those slower, easier times.
The ceramic dolphins were from Poole Pottery...my gran had the adult one and baby one.
The lovely thin crinkly Xmas wrapping paper; got superceded by much thicker quality paper. I really missed that noise when I was a child.
Tiny tears (dolly), a doll called 'Havoc' (similar to Sindy/Barbie) but was more of a 'tom-boy' kind of doll, so came with things like scuba diving stuff, combat clothing. Girls world (my DB cut the hair in odd places so it was never the same). Also another doll, slightly bigger than a Sindy where the top of the head, had a piece of 'hair' that you could pull out to make a longer hairstyle; no idea what the name of that was.
Glass of lemonade with a dollop of ice cream in - cream soda! Massive treat on a hot summer day.
Mum having 'Kays' catalogue. Dad doing the pools and we would have to be deathly quiet whilst he listened and wrote down the football scores on a Saturday afternoon in the back of the Daily Mirror.
Getting books from school and having to cover them with any kind of paper to protect them...wallpaper, brown paper (unfolded paper bag) or from a Sunday supplement magazine.
Buying Panda pops...the big bottles from the milkman (who used to come round early hours on his electric float) at Xmas, one bottle of each i.e. cola, lemonade, cherryade, limeade and getting money back when giving the empties back. Only ever had those at xmas...to expensive to buy at anytime of the year.
1 x bath a week, on a Sunday with a hair wash.
So many memories...
