Brooklyn Beckham sends parents legal letter

I saw in the media that Brooklyn Beckham has had a legal letter sent to his parents requesting that they stop trying to make contact with him. I didn’t realise the talk of him falling out with them was real, thought it was just gossip. I think I was a bit shocked by it. Of course I don’t know them but they always seemed like a lovely close family.

Always 2 sides to every story. But...I wouldn't be surprised if they have a problem with Brooklyn 's wife. She comes across as nasty, especially after what I've read about her.

He has now.

Why not just do that in the first place? Why the need for a legal letter?

Why would you leave a baby outside to cry in a pram? That’s not great parenting is it.

I have lots of issues with my parents, and they left me outside to cry in a pram (I'm told)..... but, to be fair, it was completely normal in the 1960s, and I don't imagine it did nevany harm. It is possible to dislike people, and yet still not blame them for every single decision they made!

Because it's a hard thing to do.

Presumably because he knew how incendiary doing it would be and how it would blow up in the press. He might also have not wanted to block his little sister but his hand's been forced by his parents.

I imagine there's a lot of truth in this regarding his upbringing. The report said he'd instructed lawyers to ask his parents not just to stop contacting him directly but also to stop briefing the press about him and N. That's because he knows exactly how they operate – if an unflattering story breaks, their team leaks an alternative version that paints Brand Beckham in a better light. Even if it's meant throwing him and his wife under the bus. I'm not surprised he's fed up.

Isn’t this the same method used by the royal household with Meghan & Harry? Except they bit back.

BettysRoasties · 10/01/2026 15:13

IcedPurple · 10/01/2026 15:06

. His asked them to leave him alone and they still
keep poking with the likes and such.

Couldn't he just block them on his social media accounts?

I expect he hoped his parents would actually just listen to him and respect him while still allowing them a glimpse at his life.

Also likely new blocking them is a public thing that would be noticed and bring yet more stories.

They couldn’t do that simple thing so now blocked.

MILLYmo0se · 10/01/2026 15:16

So who/which side released that information?

ohdelay · 10/01/2026 15:19

Considering the number of mumsnetters NC with their parents I'm surprised Brooklyn isn't getting more if not sympathy at least empathy. They're his parents, his experience and he doesn't want any contact with them. He doesn't deserve all this scrutiny for daring to cut them loose. They're probably quite weird and he's the one that's lived with them. He's a private citizen, not a celebrity or even particularly interesting by himself and he's only in the public eye because of his parents putting him there as a child. They should leave him alone and stop feeding the press. Hopefully now he's gone legal route they'll stop harassing him.

Interesting you think the Beckhams are weird and I find it interesting that BB fell out with his parents following his marriage. Cynics might say he doesn't need his parents anymore as he has found a new wealthier family to bankroll him.

Spoilt brat comes to mind.

Christmascaketime · 10/01/2026 15:26

Brooklyn was monetised from before he was born. I remember the wedding magazine and they focused on Brooklyn’s wedding outfits he had a little purple evening suit to match theirs.
The difference between him and other similar age peers like Ramsay or Jamie Oliver offspring is he was constantly photographed, taken on trips paparazzi covered etc. Very disrupted schooling with lots of holidays and moving countries.
The others seemed to strive for a mum at home in England stability model with children occasionally out for a film premiere etc but not daily exposure.
Even playing sports for school or going to a birthday party every kid would have known who he was from his distinctive first name or recognising him.

Allseeingallknowing · 10/01/2026 15:26

Bet he doesn’t refuse financial assistance though!

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 10:50

Brooklyn has reasonable A levels & they don’t let anyone into Parsons esp post Ivy League admissions scandal.

He wanted to succeed there but felt very homesick apparently. He seems sensitive & others prob made mincemeat of him over that ‘What I see photo book’!

my message was about culinary school because he seems to have an interest in it.

i didn’t imply he was thick, just lazy in wanting to succeed in that field and not wanting to go the long, traditional way and put the hours in.

What's it to you? Why do you care? Why is anyone talking about Brooklyn Beckham like we know him? Why does he have threads on mumsnet critiquing his life choices like we are aware of anything except what we have been fed in the thicko media.
Tbh, I'm not surprised he's ditched them as they have fucked up his life with all their PR bullshit. Randos mocking him for making a sandwich If they were better parents we wouldn't even know his name or what he looked like.

His sauce seems to be doing well (?) Not sure what sort of an income that brings. Maybe he could be the next Paul Newman & move to accessories etc (?)

I feel sorry for them, V&D in this instance, but I can't help feeling it's a mess of their own making. They've never afforded their children any privacy right from babyhood all four have been over exposed. It's all they've ever known and children can hardly make an informed choice as to whether they want to be in the public eye. Growing up and making mistakes can be difficult for many without having the eyes of the world commenting on failures to stick at anything, which has been the case with Brooklyn. It's not that unusual to drop out of university for example. The Beckhams are ridiculously indulgent, paving the way for his very amateur photos to be published as a coffee table book. Umpteen times they've subject they subjected their children to ridicule whilst simultaneously in many respects being over indulgent in supplying both the older boys with top end cars.

I'm always surprised when people hold them up as amazing parents, indulgent parents quite possibly, but that doesn't necessarily equate to putting the child's interests first. To an extent they've made them a laughing stock. They seem unable to accept that their kids are not remarkable either talent or looks wise. They have reasonable looks but if the public didn't know who they were they wouldn't turn heads. Victoria, from what we read, appears to be emulating the mom manager in her desire to launch Harper into the dubious influencer world. Why would anyone in their right mind want to emulate the Kardashians and their brood? What would set Harper apart if she wasn't the daughter of a very famous couple, she's just a very ordinary teenage girl, pleasant but not particularly memorable.

They've created the brand without any foresight as to how that would pan out for the future generation and whether they wanted to be fully signed up to it.

It's like, you're nothing if you're not famous. Those kids could have been afforded the best possible education, or training if not academic, availed of in luxury. Instead they seem to have gone down the 'pick something and become famous because your parents are' route.

The poor daughter looks set to be set up as a cross between Victoria and the Kardashians, a horrific life for an ordinary girl. I hope she's not set for a life like the mother's all the money in the world yet eating the exact same miserable, restricted, boring meal every single day of her life, due to an untreated eating disorder.

The Peltz family also have… quite the reputation…

The extra wedding was so strange.

I got the impression the wife wanted a do-over wedding without his parents present this time.

I think things developed & overtook them. That said some of ultra high net worth a bit too much public exposure etc for kids on socials & wisely backtracked when they twigged not the greatest plan.

I think a fear of losing money, being poor, losing face & place at most important table the driver. Fame, admiration. The smallest yacht scenario sits painfully for Beckhams.

Second & third gen billionaire fams often begin to get quieter & increasingly value education & culture for their kids. They lock down the socials of wider fam. Scrutiny is problematic. Interesting that Nelson P had non negotiable sport on the agenda for kids. Philanthropy becomes the insta boasting arena & safe space for the real jewels & Queen Bee narcissism if you must…

I read he did ‘well’ but not sure what that means, media studies & photography I think (?). He must have legitimately met Parsons entry criteria to a greater extent. I think he really wanted to make a go of it at Parsons but USA Uni away from fam & friends was tough.

I always thought they dreamed up this estrangement for the engagement.

Anyway, I wonder what really caused it 🤔

Hmm, doing “well” good mean anything. And sadly, I’m not convinced he got into Parsons by the front door. I think he took one OK photo on his iPhone and his parents decided he was going to be a photographer and that was the narrative he had to follow, despite zero talent. It’s really sad, but I’m not surprised he’s rebelled now.
