Brooklyn Beckham sends parents legal letter

I saw in the media that Brooklyn Beckham has had a legal letter sent to his parents requesting that they stop trying to make contact with him. I didn’t realise the talk of him falling out with them was real, thought it was just gossip. I think I was a bit shocked by it. Of course I don’t know them but they always seemed like a lovely close family.

Imagine growing up in the public eye, your parents pimping you out so people comment publicly about your looks, abilities, choices, love life etc. how is someone supposed to be grounded and make their own in that environment.

V&D seem to struggle with appropriate boundaries - look at all the photos of D kissing and cuddling Harper despite all the commentary about how grim it was. Those kids ‘ best interests should be the parents’ priorities but instead they’ve grown up as commodities.

He's never said anywhere that he wants a quiet life away from the spotlight though – that's an assumption. What he appears to want is to live his married life on his own terms. As a PP said, there's this weird Beckham dynamic where the children are summoned from wherever they are in the world to dutifully appear at their parents' side for photo ops. Brooklyn is a grown man of 26! Expecting him to drop everything, including his wife, for another promo shot is bizarre, especially when he now lives full-time in the States.

True but a 50th & post Knighthood shindig reasonable invitations. Esp if £ not a barrier.

Both his parents are bellends...no surprise Brooklyn has turned out the same.

But if the relationship had already broken down at that point, which it sounds like it had, then B probably would've recoiled when those invites landed on the doormat and felt like his boundaries had been breached. Cue his parents' camp leaking to the papers how upset they were about him not being there – again, using the media as their flying monkeys.

Genuine question why do you all have such opinions on it when you know nothing about it ?

It’s obvious they’d be upset for one of their children not to be there and was obvious he wasn’t there from the photos and from his own posts! It isn’t hard to connect the dots and make a story. Any journo could go on Instagram, see the photos from DB’s 50th and say Brooklyn Beckham sensationally misses own dad’s birthday, parents devastated. I know the same thought crossed my mind when I saw the photos! It isn’t that much of a reach is it. If it was a ‘normal’ family I’d think the same thing. Oh why wasn’t so and so there, something must’ve gone on. Yes it’s more evident now because of social media but it would’ve been the case years ago as well. Why didn’t our Brenda go to David’s party? Do you think somethings gone on? It’s just blown up out of all proportion because of who they are and because millions are seeing it play out in real time

No, they are not.

All the posters saying that Brooklyn should go off grid if that’s what he wants, and that he shouldn’t post on Instagram if he wants privacy, - he hasn’t said that that. He’s simply said that that he doesn’t want to be in contact with his parents.

Well thanks to both sides briefing the media on a near daily basis, what's known isn't actually nothing. Plenty has been shared.

I’m not seeing Brooklyn nearly anywhere near what David and Victoria are, they are very heavily pushing the Brooklyn and Nicola are the villains narrative.

Ok thanks. I think if I were D&V I would now leave him completely alone. I would always accept him back if he were my son, but I would have to close this particular chapter to keep my sanity, as painful as it is.

The other Beckham siblings are likely flying monkeys and not so independently thinking. B likely had to cut them off too because they couldn't stand in between and had to choose the parents because they still depend on them. Walking away from your whole family is no joke. He must be going through a lot.

The fact that the Beckhams don't keep quiet is the reddest of flags. I believe Brooklyn. I don't think his wife has anything to do with it. Both could be true: that she's a madam and that he got used and neglected by his parents and estranged himself because of it.

I agree. I’d just accept it was a lost cause now. Hope for the best but expect nothing.

be interesting to see what happens down the line with family weddings, funerals, etc. Will he just not go to those? Like potentially his own siblings weddings? His grandparents funerals?

Well I guess the opinions come from this thread existing. I didn’t wake up this morning opining about the Beckhams, but now I’ve opened the thread opinions surface.

I think the Beckham parents have failed their children. They should've been kept out of the spotlight as much as possible and made to go to school and get some qualifications. Instead it seemed to be endless holidays, parties, events, during the school week/term. Leaving the kids with no qualifications or skills to speak of. Their parents were lucky to carve out very successful careers but that didn't mean their children would automatically be successful. Brooklyn gets endless criticism in the media and is mocked for his lack of success, whether in photography or cooking, despite his famous parents. Maybe he just wants to break free and try to make his own life?

I agree. When I think about my own sons it horrifies me to think of them living their entire lives in the public domain, open to criticism and scrutiny from strangers. Protecting my children was my number one priority and we are not even famous or remotely interesting to the outside world.

Exactly, the parents have chosen to be in the public eye, the children haven't; it should be up to them to choose when they're older.

VB and DD won’t ever divorce unless he wants to. She has nothing really without the brand anymore. The poor children have been raised as the brand.

I bet they have sold stories. Funnily enough Prince Harry said V had sold stories about Meghan.

Brooklyn never stood a chance at a normal life when his been monetised by his parents since birth.

The others so far haven’t exactly done much successful either and those songs Cruz does omg….

The lot of them are air heads and the story could have been generated for more news coverage.
