Brooklyn Beckham sends parents legal letter

I saw in the media that Brooklyn Beckham has had a legal letter sent to his parents requesting that they stop trying to make contact with him. I didn’t realise the talk of him falling out with them was real, thought it was just gossip. I think I was a bit shocked by it. Of course I don’t know them but they always seemed like a lovely close family.

Beat Bobby flay was the show if anyone’s interested 😂

I really wish the news / newspapers would leave this alone. DH and I comment when we read our daily newspaper about the amount of coverage Brooklyn gets, most days it’s 2 full pages. It’s very sad, but most family fallouts are sad.

Maybe read a different paper?

Brooklyn’s posted a statement on insta - very interesting

Ooft that’s some statement.

Barneybagpuss · 19/01/2026 19:05

It’s very revealing !

JoeTheDrummer · 19/01/2026 19:07

Wow, he’s really gone for it hasn’t he. No way back now! Very sad for all involved.

BettysRoasties · 19/01/2026 19:10

Wow

But also not unexpected brand beckham is the most important thing for brand Beckham. We knew about the dance and the dress.

ChilledProsecco · 19/01/2026 19:19

Gosh, that statement is something else!

I can’t say a way back for them all.

How very sad. Despite all this I do feel there’s another side to it. Nicola’s family offer financial freedom & the chance for a life of uncompromised luxury. Also he speaks about valuing & having online privacy & no desire for publicity (?)

Brand Beckham aside it sounds like his parents, family (?), really don’t like Nicola.

Oh man, im weirdly proud of him. I know what it must have taken for him to walk away. The utter tragedy of not having a loving family. He's absolutely amazing for doing this. Im glad he's speaking out. I hope he's getting the right therapy and can live in peace.

If we take him completely at his word (?)

I tend to agree, he’s always seemed a nice lad.

I’d be wanting to rescue my sister if all he says it true & tip of iceberg

You can believe whatever you want. The fact that you think there is another side to a parent-child relationship is a bit of a red flag. The guy walked away from his family. He wouldn't have done that had the relationship not been severely disrupted. The parents set the tone for the relationship. I believe him. Anyone who knows the pain has no issue believing him.

I know what you mean but there are the wedding texts & other evidence for another perspective. The reality may be truthfully grey. We don’t and can’t currently know.

He has replaced one dynasty perhaps for another (?) & he who pays the piper calls the tune. Personally I feel true freedom, maturity and agency comes only with real financial independence. He could well be working to that end. Good for him if so.

It’s very hard to argue with his truth here & I find it very moving. It certainly took courage & bravery & he deserves respect & happiness.

Terfarina · 19/01/2026 20:10

Wow. I believe him 100%. Poor lad. He will get piled on by the 'respect your parents' brigade but hopefully this will bring an end to the will they/wont they and he will be left in peace, ultimately.

Jadedand · 19/01/2026 20:25

The bit about growing up with overwhelming anxiety really hit me; I think he is probably traumatised by their whole modus operandi. They've emotionally neglected him throughout his childhood, if not failed to protect him. He's obviously a sensitive soul. I feel for him. It will be interesting to see how D and V respond. But that statement is, like someone has said, almost impossible to come back from.

Yes I can relate to him saying that the anxiety was suddenly gone. I wouldn't know whether he's sensitive. I think he went through hell and had a very human reaction to it.

I think dB himself said he has OCD. I know from a family member that it's a hard trait to live with !

It permeates the child's home they can't relax because a parent is always on edge about mess.

That could be part of it as well

1stjan2026 · 20/01/2026 07:58

The DM are still putting out new stories this morning about not believing those are his words, I mean I am sure he was helped with the wording but I don’t think anyone can deny the sentiment was all his.

As someone who grew up in a hugely problematic family I ended up going NC with, I think he’s been incredibly brave doing this. It’s not easy whether you’re rich or poor. And he’s been in the public eye since the day he was born without his consent.

It would be interesting to know if he’s actually been diagnosed with OCD or ‘a bit OCD’ as some put it. Either way it sounds like he wasn’t the easiest person to grow up with.

His obsessive practising as a kid learning to play football suggests OCD to me. Apparently he’d be outside for hours and hours, just kicking the ball over and over.

It paid off, but there are bound to be downsides.

The refusing to help with dogs - whys that on VB? N’s father could buy every dog in the USA & charter jets to transport then.

The embarrassing dancing - if that’s BB’s worst ever experience she’s more fortunate than most & it was unnecessary to share IMO.

N P-B is only with BB for this families SM reach to elevate her struggling career which even her DF billions can’t buy her. Her asking VB to support dog rescue in LA fires was just another part of this commercial / publicity effort.

BB is the puppet here both by his parents and his wife. VB parentified him with her neurosis about DBs affairs but N PB is the same neurotic coercively controlling character. This energy is familiar to him. N PB is the classic us against the world weirdo - she will be loving this and stoking it.

That makes sense but what career or film ops has N P-B had since BB came on scene? Or is it just about public attention?
