Brooklyn Beckham sends parents legal letter

I saw in the media that Brooklyn Beckham has had a legal letter sent to his parents requesting that they stop trying to make contact with him. I didn’t realise the talk of him falling out with them was real, thought it was just gossip. I think I was a bit shocked by it. Of course I don’t know them but they always seemed like a lovely close family.

It will be interesting to see if any of the other siblings defect. I'm just visualising Harper giving them the finger...

Somewhere is the future we'll be listening to the conversation (and mental health damage) from all those children who were ruthlessly exploited by their 'influencer' or celebrity parents for likes or cash etc. So many of those Reality TV Z listers do it. Kids who have grown up with cameras shoved into their faces at every opportunity...

I do think there should be laws to protect the privacy of anyone under 16 as they can't consent. Why isn't that being discussed? Is it because the media is complicit?

I can almost guarantee she would have been miming. It was pretty much standard on TOTP by that time. Didn't they use to famously turn her mike off during certain performances too? She can hold a tune absolutely. But she's far from what I would call a talented singer despite the many years she spent training in musical theatre.

There are always two sides to every story. I just hope that they can deal with this privately, as this is where Harry went very wrong.

Problems with wealth & fame is that you are prey to opportunists and you never know if someone is with you for yourself or your fame & lifestyle - you could end up as someone's meal ticket. Then again... equally there are women on the gram who openly sell themselves, like that poor Ukrainian 'model' who had her back broken in Dubai by some rich sickos.

Your last line shows exactly why the Beckhams should never have put their kids in the spotlight without their consent. My son is the same age as Cruz and if he played a small gig and was a bit crap the world and the MN forum wouldn’t need to know about it or pass judgement. The boys cannot win, if they do nothing they are lazy scroungers if they try something they are targets for vitriol. Very bad decision on D&V’s part to make their kids vulnerable to snide comments from strangers when they are just trying to navigate their lives, just like my sons are doing but thankfully without a spotlight on them.

If what you're reading devotes two pages to gossip about this man then it's not a newspaper.

Yes she did a podcast and came across well. She had been to same schools/circles. She was basically saying she’d had a nice privileged life, private schools and you have to make peace that you’ll never be as successful in your field as your parent was in theirs. She has a degree in photography I think.

Loads of famous people have kids who grow up to be functioning adults. The Beckhams chose to put their kids in the limelight, have little/no expectations of them ... they reap what they sow im afraid.

Well if you are a celebrity child in your 20s like Brooklyn Beckham you perhaps reflect on your life versus life peers had with similar celebrity parents, I think Anais said she was in school with him.
Jamie Redknapp was married to a pop star and his sons you wouldn’t recognise.

As he’s got older he can see how he’s been used for publicity versus similar peers.

Yes, why continue to make a spectacle of your life? They surely don't need the money. Yes, I know there's no point where you can definitely say you have 'enough' money but the Beckhams are worth hundreds of millions by now. Why continue to invite intrusion? It's obvious that they value attention for its own sake, and from birth their children have been props in their parents' narcissism.

Why is only the last 5 years relevant? The most recent one was supposedly the aristocratic DJ that BB tried to shield his Mum from at Glasto. Seems like BB has had a whole childhood of protecting his Mum from his Dad. Maybe he’s had enough of the gaslighting / fakery / sleaze / toxicity / dysfunction. He most likely was parentified which is when the oldest often absorbs the wholy inappropriate adult emotional discharge from a parent on to a child.

Just reading earlier the comments about getting into Parsons on merit. I’m afraid that really isn’t true. Major Donations for chairs, buildings/facilities and to endowments are still a major factor in US admissions. Just listen to Raging Moderates Scott Galloway in the Preet Stay stunned podcast ‘How Trump re-made America.’ The Hoffmann case just stopped the cheating on tests not the influence of major donations on admissions.

If someone has cheated once, as we know DB has, there's a very good chance they will cheat again. Especially if they have plenty of opportunity and reason to believe their spouse will never leave them. No, that's not 'evidence', but past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour.

DB and VB have no option but to send a lawyers letter back stating that they will abide the wishes of their son.
But I would also communicate that they will still send, via Brooklyn's lawyer, cards for birthdays, wedding anniversary and Christmas - expecting no reply.
Then siblings and parents live in hope and know that Brooklyn knows that they care. Brooklyn can instruct his lawyer to destroy all or whatever he wishes.

Brooklyn was never anti family until he married.
Pitty his parents didn't insist that he had some time in the army, a foreign university or doing an apprenticeship in a workplace. Hope their other children are given better career advice.
