Brooklyn Beckham sends parents legal letter

I saw in the media that Brooklyn Beckham has had a legal letter sent to his parents requesting that they stop trying to make contact with him. I didn’t realise the talk of him falling out with them was real, thought it was just gossip. I think I was a bit shocked by it. Of course I don’t know them but they always seemed like a lovely close family.

How very sad. I don’t follow celebrities or famous people but having a sibling who cut both our parents off at different times, I can see how it will affect his siblings as well as David and Victoria.

I really wish the news / newspapers would leave this alone. DH and I comment when we read our daily newspaper about the amount of coverage Brooklyn gets, most days it’s 2 full pages. It’s very sad, but most family fallouts are sad.

We don’t know the facts. Some of my observations:
Brand Beckham comes first and he was exploited as a child and into adulthood.
DB has NDA’s alluded to that he puts it about.
VB appears to be self absorbed and has an ED which no one discusses.
Perhaps he was raised in a toxic/controling environment.
Alluded to that there were conflicts surrounding NP & BB wedding.
Perhaps he’s happier away from them, can be himself.

It’s very sad. Can’t help feeling this kid is a monumental bellend though. Bit of a Prince Harry.

I think no child does that to their parents unless they are very upset about something. It's traumatic to go no contact with your parents. You see a lot of comments calling these kids spoilt brats etc as though its easy to just cut contact. In my experience it never is. I work in mental health and I see the pain it takes for kids to try and sever ties with their parents

I feel sorry for these nepo babies. It must me hard trying to live up to the standards of famous parents.
People would probably think more of them if they did something useful like charity fundraising for good causes

My impression from the Beckham documentary was that he’s quite controlling so perhaps Brooklyn needs to have space to breathe and live his own life. But it’s sad he’s cut off his siblings as well.

I agree. I’m no fan of Gordon Ramsay, but his oldest son is a marine, one daughter is a police officer. Far healthier to bring up children to have a work ethic than to leech off their parents’ efforts/luck.

He’s not exactly living a quiet and private life now though

we don’t know all the facts of course but it quite quickly was clear to see it wasn’t just gossip, he didn’t appear to attend any of David’s 50th celebrations, the knighthood or Victoria’s Netflix doc. Plus his brothers have written some things on instagram commenting on media articles . It all seems very sad

Your second point goes right back to your first point. He may do lots of charity work, but just quietly without making the public aware. Because you can be sure any charity work he did do publicly would also be used against him. He’d be accused of only doing it for publicity.

I am marginally interested in celeb culture so naturally my nosey self wants to know the back story and what has actually happened, but it must be shit having such famous parents for a multitude of reasons.

I imagine there's a lot of truth in this regarding his upbringing. The report said he'd instructed lawyers to ask his parents not just to stop contacting him directly but also to stop briefing the press about him and N. That's because he knows exactly how they operate – if an unflattering story breaks, their team leaks an alternative version that paints Brand Beckham in a better light. Even if it's meant throwing him and his wife under the bus. I'm not surprised he's fed up.

But he's living it on his terms. He's not being trotted out for photo ops like a puppet to boost his parents' bank balance.

Disclaimer: I used to work in a branch of the media where I dealt with celebrities. The Beckhams are shameless in their pursuit of wealth and fame.

We do know quite a few of the facts. The Beckhams didn’t want t to fund his lifestyle and expected him to find a career and earn money. Conversely his wife’s billionaire father was prepared to bankroll them and said the Beckhams were being tight. So they are now both living in the house her daddy bought them and living the fancy life that her daddy affords them. The money is poison dripped in their ears.

TBH I do actually feel for Brooklyn, I went no contact with my parents and it’s no picnic. They don’t seem to be respecting his boundaries (whatever they might be) I saw on NYE they both posted a photo of him with something like ‘we love you so much’ but they know this will be reposted and written about in the press millions of times and will generate more of a narrative about him / Nicola, which reading between the lines seems to be what started it all off in the first place. They could just message him privately or just respect his wishes and write nothing. I am sure he knows how much they love him, or not, but this sort of thing does nobody any good, except to drive the narrative that V&D are the good guys here and B&N are the opposite. As someone who has been through a NC situation, albeit obviously a much less high profile one, there is usually fault on both sides.

The Peltz family also have… quite the reputation…

So it looks like he wanted to stop them mentioning them in public and they blamed Vic and Dave for the narrative around his wife saying she kidnapped him etc.

I agree. I mean he was in front of the camera from the day he was born. I’ve always found the Beckhams quite contradictory in the way they obviously seem to love their family very much and still happy to put them in front of the cameras from a very young age which, like it or not, puts under public scrutiny which the must know is terrible for ghem.
