Yes, it resonates sometimes with dementia I’ve seen - normally in nice, safe care places, or in the home but with care/support.
I say resonates but mean it in the loosest sense as the ‘I’m God / emperor’ type ranting is not a type any of my relatives/others had - though they weren’t POTUS obviously.
Very scary but very, very scary what all those holding him up and enabling him to be their front man are about.

I’m trying (and failing, on the whole) to imagine what on earth his State of the Union address will be like on Feb 24th.

He doubted whether the Guard was "sophisticated enough" to carry out the order effectively.

I’ve just made a foray on to X, looking up “Greenland”, and I found this. WTAF?

I think he’s lost the plot. I saw a video of Marco Rubio handing Trump a note (meant to be private) whilst Trump was rambling. It said, “Go back to the Chevron topic.” Trump took the note, said, “Oh look, Marco’s given me a note,” and read the note aloud. He didn’t seem to remember what the protocol was in the note-passing scenario.

I will say that his position in portrait he's chosen makes him look like an ape. Apologies to all our simian friends.

You know, I'm not discounting senility, but I wonder how much of his insanity is due to assuming himself to be an unstoppable force (he's never been told no) that is now meeting an immovable object he can't shut down (criticism and condemnation from various sources as well as people and entities refusing to back down or acquiesce).

It must create some sort of a cognitive dissonance in his pea (or should that be pee) brain that only more and more outrageous behaviour and grandiose thinking can blot it out. And as protests get bigger and louder and now some of his sheep in Congress and MAGA are starting to question him, I think he's going to get even worse. Don't Narcs spin out of control when challenged or defied?
