I was thinking it's a kind of double-edged-sword plan, but if I were Norway I'd deliberately CC in the American side to a long chain of emails from EU leaders laughing about how dumb and crazy Trump is.

I mean, either it'll undermine Trump's 'The rest of the world respects us so much because of Donald J Trump' narrative and give unhappy GOPers the push to impeach, or he might just nuke Norway. Could go either way. 😆

You really need to watch the comments from Gavin Newsome and the speech from President Macron, from Davos.

Yup. Hearing people say they will beef up security in the Arctic is pathetic. They need to be saying to Trump " Why ? Show us yer fecking evidence that China or Russia want Greenland. Please show us on this here globe how China are going to sneak an invasion force half way round the world to take and hold an island that is 80% ice".

And if he mentions melting ice, demand he join the world in doing something about climate change.

Because from where I sit, he's not going anywhere. And given that there is a 2nd amendment supposedly to stop this, it's hard to be sanguine.

That's true, but for anyone in congress/senate in a district that's not bleeding, cherry red, where a primary challenge from the right isn't a torpedo, those numbers have to be concerning.

And, @SerendipityJane I don't disagree with you on that - I find Meidas particularly irritating that way, but I have a huge amount of respect for Sarah Longwell and her analyses. And I don't think she's breathlessly predicting he's near the end, but she does have some thoughts about where the polling needs to go for it to spell real trouble for the Rs in general that I find very persuasive. And her colleague, Jonathan Van Last's, newsletter is one of the best out there.
