I'm not saying it's healthy or right', but gee it's almost 'nice' to see males starting to hold other males to 'beauty standards' the way they've held females to standards since time immemorial.

There is another long running thread on MN, where one of the regular posters takes round the tea trolley when people need a bit of respite. On this thread, we need a drinks trolley, brimming with 70% proof rum and gin, and whisky and wine ... to numb the daily exclamations of "WTF".

I know what you mean. It sort of proves feminist theories right. It isn't healthy to see yourself in externals/measure your self worth by how attractive others say you are. When feminists talked about the psychological impact it turns out it wasn't just women being weak.

But it's the bad kind of equality. Same as I don't want sexual violence against men to go up to meet the levels women suffer. I want the sexual violence against women to go down.

Plus, the toll on their mental health then leads to it becoming everyone else's problem and women/feminism gets blamed.

Also, many regimes have put male virility and power on a pedestal. It always ends with real young males dying horribly in wars.
