Back on US soil, an American citizen in a peaceful neighbourhood is gunned down by masked agents sent there to make people afraid.

Despicable, wretched people lying, lying, lying - all day, every day, about everything.

Seeing that again I'd forgotten just how awful it was!

Drumpf likes to talk about people being from "central casting"...
...OK show me an utter knob.

And it was the Montenegro President, a beautiful country (been there and want to go back!) And DD spent two weeks on holiday there, it's very welcoming unlike the US

BustingBaoBun · 13/01/2026 16:50

@wallaw... how embarrassing that was.

Then invented Lease Lend which meant the UK were still paying for a war they didn't start in the Blair years.

Especially as quite a lot of it ended up at the bottom of the Atlantic.

The US ended 1945 in profit. The only country that made anything out of WW2.

When you know that, and add it to the greed and stupidity of Trump, a lot is explained.

When I say "The Americans" it's a tad unfair. Some - in particular the Jewish communities - damn well knew what was at stake. But Joseph Kennedy was not an isolated appeaser who wanted to suck ReichCock. And while I write that I think it's important to remember that his eldest - Joe Jnr.- died a hero helping he Allies defeat the Axis. And indirectly gave us JFK.

JoshLymanSwagger · 13/01/2026 17:00

@SerendipityJane Agreed.

Someone I knew who fought in the Navy for the entirety of WWII (including North Sea convoys) said that the most frightening thing he did at sea in his life was returning a lease-lend ship after the war was over. He expected the thing to sink under him at any moment.

The US didn't rule the waves for over 2 centuries for a reason. Shit ships being one.

I believe The Big Yin has criticised the construction of Liberty ships - and he is an expert.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/01/2026 17:12

To be fair, I doubt they lent us their best ships.

To be fair, had the situation been reversed, it's unlikely we'd have sent our best ships.

In WW2 the UK roundly resisted all US attempts to make us comply with their racism. I'm curious how that would play out now - half of MN would be working the pub doors themselves if Reform are to be believed.

walllaw · 13/01/2026 18:02

What do people think about this? I feel like it's better to have a seat at the table than not to, but my husband thinks it's awful.

JoshLymanSwagger · 13/01/2026 18:06

@walllaw I agree with your DH.

SerendipityJane · 13/01/2026 18:07

A very good reason for allies to quietly disconnect their systems.

This tickled me somewhat 😂. He shouldn’t be allowed to invade any country he can’t pronounce the name of (so any of them!)

The DoJ is rapidly becoming Scrotus' apparatchik. And it's only a tiny step from there to becoming his Stasi and/or Gestapo.

I think GOP members of Congress need to read the poem 'First They Came' daily. Scrotus will turn on them in a New York minute should they put a toe out of line. And even if they do toe the line if he needs a scapegoat.

At least the Dems, dissidents, and the 'enemies list' know the danger they're in.

That isn't really funny; he has some sort of speech impediment going on, unless it's a cognitive impairment. Is the source reliable? (We know that Trump isn't.)

Edited

Is the source reliable… it’s Jimmy Fallon. As in comedian Jimmy Fallon.

Igotjelly · 13/01/2026 19:49

And he doesn’t have a speech impediment (unlike Biden), he’s simply completely idiotic and ill prepared unless he’s wittering about himself or his cronies.

LlttledrummergirI · 13/01/2026 19:57

Given the commander in chief is a convicted felon, someone who spent many years hanging out with a convicted sex traffickers, who paid for at least one beauty pageant so he could gawp at underage girls while they were changing their clothes and likes to grab women by be pussy; It's hardly a surprise that he wants ai technology that has the ability to undress females embedded into a massive database. Brownie points innit.

JoshLymanSwagger · 13/01/2026 19:57

He's just a dirty old man.
