Back on US soil, an American citizen in a peaceful neighbourhood is gunned down by masked agents sent there to make people afraid.

Despicable, wretched people lying, lying, lying - all day, every day, about everything.

Is that home-grown US fans, or overseas revenue-fodder ones?

If it's home grown fans, they are likely MAGA, who are now saying " They said it was football, but it's not. It's soccer !"

Maybe he'll suddenly find he's not quite as upset or defamed as he thought?

Trump may have to disclose details about assets as part of BBC lawsuit.

I was sort of hoping that Denmark would find officials to send that were doppelgängers for Kristofer Hivju. I pictured them stomping into the room in full Tormund Giantsbane mode. But TBH since Scrotus won't be in the meeting I guess it doesn't matter. Vance and Rubio are both poltroons who hide behind Scrotus' skirts. I'm sure the envoys will have no problem putting them in their places.

PS Yes, I know Kristofer Hivju is Norwegian. But boy, is he my 'type'!

In a lot of the cases that have been "settled" so far, the organisations could all have demanded proof of actual loss. (And I believe Murdochs rags still are ?). However with profit over principle, it's quicker and cheaper to settle.

I see Scott Adams - creator of "Dilbert" - has passed.

Sadly he is a paradigm of the need to separate the art and artist.

That's the depressing truth. If Dominion hadn't taken a settlement from Fox, we might be living in a very different world so far, and every domino that falls takes us further into the nightmare.

The BBC are required by law to defend the situation. If they wanted to settle out of court then it would need to be approved by the board and the Secretary of State. All of this will be known to the grown ups in Washington. But whether they have informed the administration - and even if they have, whether any notice was taken - are separate matters.

As a reluctant licence payer myself, if the BBC settle, it will be the reason I needed to become an ex parrot licence payer

Yes, but lots of US institutions have needed board approval and gone ahead and settled in the end. And not sure I see David Lammy as the last bulwark against the encroachments of the Rump administration, although I would be happy to be surprised.

The bar for proving defamation is higher in the US than the UK, though, which may be offset by the Florida factor, so who knows.

I do hope they press ahead.

Wasn't it Davos 2016 where he pushed some other leader out of the way so he'd be in the front of the gathering? Then did that stupid movement tugging on his lapels as if to say "Ha! Showed you who's boss!".

I remember it because it was his first international gathering and soon after the inauguration. And I thought at the time "How embarrassing! And we have four years of his egoism to put up with?". Never did I think it would end up being eight years! Or that that instance would be a microscopic blip in the panoply of his ego driven behaviours.

Don't mention the war.

Well you started it,

No we didn't.

Yes you did, you invaded Poland.

The US spent 2 years hoping Britain would fall so they could cozy up to that nice Mr. Hitler who had all the right ideas.

Then invented Lease Lend which meant the UK were still paying for a war they didn't start in the Blair years.

Especially as quite a lot of it ended up at the bottom of the Atlantic.
