Anyone preparing for a lot of snow tomorrow?

We're in Leicestershire and it looks like we're due quite a bit.

It’s just been heavy rain in Cardiff. Even if it does snow it won’t settle.

Electricsausages · 08/01/2026 19:18

West miss snowing thick and fast roads are being covered

Electricsausages · 08/01/2026 19:19

We’re in the midlands and have a fair amount of snow already. I had dug out our snowshoes and bought some new cheap ones for the grandkids, so hopefully we will have a decent depth by tomorrow morning so my husband and I can snowshoe, and bonus if it lasts until school finishes (assuming there is any school).

Northamptonshire here…..a lot of rain but no snow as of yet…x

NessShaness · 08/01/2026 19:45

Snow just starting here (East Mids)

Biscuits4 · 08/01/2026 19:45

Gloucestershire - it was pelting rain here earlier but settled. Hasn't seemed overly windy, but apparently the roadwork barriers at mile down the road has been thrown across the road (it's a main road).

Blarn · 08/01/2026 19:49

It was raining in Birmingham until about 6 when it looked a bit sleety with some flakes of snow. Half an hour later I realised there was quite a bit of snow on the ground! It's windy and the snow it just building up on the roads.

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 08/01/2026 19:59

Update from Northants….snowingnow !!!

WheresMyOtherSock · 08/01/2026 20:02

Peak District - snow falling and settling quickly. School have said they will update by 7:30am.

NortyTorty · 08/01/2026 20:05

Another in wild Kernow. And wild it is - lots of trees down and power cuts already and according to Kernow Weather Team, the worst is still to come.

MrsChristmasHasResigned · 08/01/2026 20:08

Cheshire southern border, wet and sleet-y but no snow yet. Still got some patches left over from earlier in the week and it was very icy underfoot this morning when walking the dogs so we will have ice under any snow that falls.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 08/01/2026 20:15

Don’t think it will snow here in Cornwall but the winds are really bad with torrential rain atm. Worried about the bunnies although the hutches are very secure. There’s a tree in the back garden but it has deep roots. Fences were reinforced last time there was a storm.
No doubt there will still be some idiots wave watching!!

MadSnowingBruv · 08/01/2026 20:16

Decent amount of snow in North Birmingham. Secondary school is closed - much delight from children.

TheGirlWhoLived · 08/01/2026 20:21

Worcester has a covering but I’m surprised it stuck! Dh had to come home from work early in bromsgrove, really treacherous drive!

backslashruby · 08/01/2026 20:26

Stoke on Trent. Tiny bit of icing sugar after some rain earlier. Quite windy.

daisychain01 · 08/01/2026 20:28

We're on the English side of the Wye Valley.

It hasn't been as bad as predicted - it was raining heavily earlier, which seems to have calmed down. Probably not going to snow much unless it arrives overnight when we're asleep.😴 🛌 🥱

stay safe everyone

RampantIvy · 08/01/2026 20:31

Snowing where I am just north of Sheffield.

Grumblies · 08/01/2026 20:33

We have sleet where I am and it's been raining since about 5pm. Despite being forecast since 6pm there's still no snow at all and I suspect any snow we might get now overnight won't settle.

We have this nonsense multiple times a year. A storm comes and goes. It’s never devastating. It’s England ffs not a hurricane prone exotic island.

NewYearss · 08/01/2026 20:41

Snowing and settling in mid Cheshire.

ladygindiva · 08/01/2026 20:49

Red warning here in Cornwall, a lot of people are without power until at least tomorrow morning. I don't think I've ever seen winds like it, and I'm quite old and have lived in Cornwall ( which is pretty windy) for over 40 years

The road into my town has had trees falling onto it, narrowly missing a friend of mine travelling home from work and half our town are without power.

It’s 100 mile winds in some parts of Cornwall!
