I'm putting forward Fruit teas.
Some of the combinations sound so promising and positively delicious.

In reality, they taste what I imagine drinking pot pourri to be like.

Beach holidays in very hot countries. I love the beach on a mild to hot day but in extreme heat it is an awful experience and I often end the day feeling headachy and exhausted.

MiddleAgedDread · 30/12/2025 15:34

Yoga (it actually stresses me out)
days at the beach

Goats cheese. Tastes like a goat smells.

No! Goat cheese is my favourite thing in the world!

ObliviousCoalmine · 30/12/2025 15:34

Weddings. Beaches in the summer. Christmas markets.

VoltaireMittyDream · 30/12/2025 15:36

YY to picnics! Why?? So much stupid prep, and fretting about the weather, and having to schlep around a shit ton of food and drinks and paper plates and a blanket to sit on so you don’t get a grassy arse, and everyone constantly panics about wasps.

Fucking hate picnics.

hexsnidgett · 30/12/2025 15:37

Christmas obviously. Pure disappointment and hype from start to finish. Pressure and lists and expectations.

NuffSaidSam · 30/12/2025 15:37

Brainwashing.

Sounds like a spa treatment. I'd love to have my brain washed, like when you have your hair washed at the hairdressers.

Actual brainwashing is bad.

Christmaseree · 30/12/2025 15:39

Macarons, they look so pretty too, it’s a shame.

Rattai · 30/12/2025 15:40

Yes to picnics as you then have to take home anything uneaten...half a tub of coleslaw with no lid etc
Also dirty cutlery...yuk

WeeAgnes · 30/12/2025 15:40

Yes to "a nice hot bath" - it's either too hot or too cold and I'm bored after 5 minutes, but feel too guilty to get out because I've used 20000 litres to water 😂

Heyhelga · 30/12/2025 15:42

I'm adding mulled wine. Sorry, it's just a no for me.

Fizbosshoes · 30/12/2025 15:42

Items from a bakery. Bakeries and supermarket bakeries often smell amazing but I cant think of a single item that tastes as good as that smell

Agree about fruit teas, they smell really nice and taste of nothing

WeeAgnes · 30/12/2025 15:43

@VoltaireMittyDream

Fucking hate picnics.

Don't hold back! 🤣

Agree with the fruit tea, also bad for your teeth!

Sorbet - always sounds like a nice idea but it’s just too cold and hurts your teeth

I didn't know fruit teas are bad for your teeth. Are they too acidic?

Christmaseree · 30/12/2025 15:44

Lots of cakes at an all inclusive buffet, beautiful presentation then no taste.

😂Why isn't there a laughing emoji anymore?

@Jugendstiel yes been advised by a few different dentists that they’re really bad for teeth because of the acid

Mindfulness podcasts - annoying

Mini golf - I hate this SO much. Total irrational hatred since I was a child. No dark trauma associated with it, I just loath it.

Agree with the comments about sour dough and goats cheese. Would add cottage cheese. I work in health care so you can make your own deductions as to why it offends me……….

Yoga (it actually stresses me out)
days at the beach

I like yoga for the flexibility it gives me but agree about it stressing people out. A few times it has made me feel like crying - apparently that is a normal thing that happens when your body releases tension but I really don't feel like getting all emotional in front of a bunch of strangers while my copious lycra-clad bum is in the air.

thebear1 · 30/12/2025 15:48

Coffee, although I know lots will disagree. Love the smell but hate the taste.

Nopicturesallowed · 30/12/2025 15:48

Snow, sand, toast, fried onions.

givemushypeasachance · 30/12/2025 15:49

Whiskey. I like the idea of it, but can't really taste anything much except burning spirit alcohol.

As a child I didn't like hot chocolate, because in my mind it should be basically liquid melted chocolate. The 80s/90s insipid brown water we were given at Brownie camp and on a school trip was deeply disappointing.

Melon - when bought from a supermarket in the UK anyway. It's just wet crunchy meh, no flavour.

Agree, nearly said mulled wine! I always like the smell of it and first few sips then it gets too cold and just tastes like weird lukewarm red wine

Adding pumpkin spiced lattes - same thing, first few sips are nice then they’re horrid and sickly

My family can’t play mini golf without having a massive row!

Traveling for work. Sure it’s nice to see new cities and countries and eat out with colleagues and not have to pay for it yourself but it was a lovely 21° evening when I got here and the very next morning it was -22°. What the actual fuck.
