Maggie the dog has a Christmas bandana on, and I've just wrapped up a(nother) soft toy.

I couldn't leave her out, big softie that I am.

Does your pet get gifts?

Mine just got some tasty treats. They got more presents when they were younger but not really into toys or interactive stuff anymore.
oh, and they got a couple of posh orthopeadic beds about a month ago so i calling that an early present!

They did. Cat got a catnip toy and some turkey, the rats got a rodent snack thing, leftovers from the dinner a turkey leg bone. Happy animals.

Yes, our hamster has a new toy, a swinging bridge and a Christmas dinner consisting of a piece of turkey, a piece of broccoli and a cranberry. And a bit of Wensleydale cheese later.

DDog got a new toy and a mini Christmas dinner.

PhantomOfAllKnowledge · 25/12/2025 20:23

Just reporting that the cats ate about half their Christmas dinner before wandering off 😆

WWomble · 25/12/2025 21:00

The dogs had multiple toys but still played tug-o-war with 1 favourite! The cat had toys, scratch post and a new tunnel. All in a sack between them . . . Biggest dog opened her own, DD1 helped the rest.

I bought a cat stocking for my two, brother and sister to share, they absolutely love the toys and picked a different one each! Sabre was obsessed with a thing on a stick with feathers and balls on it, Suki his sister chose a little plushy Christmas pudding with a crinkle inside! Until I opened the 3 catnip mice my mate bought them that is! Suki suddenly took a liking to one of the hessian catnip mice and has played with it non stop all day! Apart from a nap on the bed, then she came back down and continued! I can happily report, they have had the best Christmas, topped off with their own posh, tinned Christmas dinners! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

You’re lucky your cats liked their toys, mine doesn’t like hers (with catnip and crinkle bit) but likes catnip and other catnip toys.

No, and it's his birthday on Boxing Day and we'll wish him a happy birthday but he doesn't need presents.

Crwysmam · 26/12/2025 06:23

New soft toy, a turkey. I’m now fed up of everyone chanting “ the dogs got the turkey”.
I hate squeaky toys and it was the only one that honks rather than squeaks. We’ve spent most of the day giggling at her making it honk.Shes recovering from IVDD ( slipped disc essentially) and it is keeping her distracted because she’s not allowed to do very much.

Duncan was very excited for his 🙂. He got several different presents and was actually quite overwhelmed! He was also treated to turkey, roast potatoes, mash, broccoli, pig in blanket & yorkshire pud for dinner with us.

I love this thread xx
