Maggie the dog has a Christmas bandana on, and I've just wrapped up a(nother) soft toy.

I couldn't leave her out, big softie that I am.

Pup has more presents than I do!

Tomatocutwithazigzagedge · 24/12/2025 21:51

Yes, all wrapped up but he has been sneaking into the bag in my home office for an investigative sniff this week.

Ddog has a new toy, a bone, a bag of treats and an Elf costume. He's going to be fuming at the last one though, ha ha!

Cairneyes · 24/12/2025 21:51

He is cuter than me though!

Yes but he had them early as he had surgery this morning so won’t be mobile enough to tear them open like he usually does. Opening presents is his favourite thing to do! If he managed to perk up a bit tomorrow he can help open the kids.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 24/12/2025 22:07

He will get the joy of licking all the trays
Ok so he gets that every day really but it'll be higher quality food. He's a cat. He doesn't give a toss about presents. He would just look disdainfully at it and go lick the oven tray anyway.

Ooh - photo please!!!

My girl cat has some extra special treats lurking which she will love. I haven't wrapped them this year for easier access. MIL has also sent her some goodies, lucky girl!

This is one pic, my DDs piggie Chester from years back . That hat was not CGI or glued to his little skull !
We had 8 of them over the years and they all did photos with hats Xmas Grin

(He's pretending to look exploited )

Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous boy. I'm feeling dog broody. What's his name? 😍

honeyfox · 24/12/2025 23:03

Yes my dog has some new treats and a toy or two that friends have bought her.

I have a tradition where I open one of my presents on Christmas Eve night. I couldn't add a photo, but it's a First Aid kit for pets 😄

MumChp · 24/12/2025 23:04

All pets we know get a present even the next door dog.

Thetelly8 · 24/12/2025 23:22

Yes he has a stocking with santas favourite cat on filled with toys he can’t have treats as they make him unwell.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/12/2025 23:25

I bought Dreamies Stockings for our cats one year and noticed one had "Best Cat" the other had "Purrfect Cat" and I had to change one so no favouritism. (We have male/female siblings)
It's not like they can READ but I could imagine how Judgey our female would be "Oh , so he's BEST is he?"
Horses Head on my bed for sure .

Nourishinghandcream · 24/12/2025 23:53

Ddog2 has gone to bed with her (Christmas Eve) present.
Soft fox toy that is almost as big as her, she wrestled with it for a little while and is now asleep, happily sucking on its big soft belly!🐶

Empress13 · 24/12/2025 23:56

Oh yes as has my Dsis dog who is coming over tomorrow. Just a few treats he doesn’t do toys strange boy that he is !

Copperoliverbear · 24/12/2025 23:56

100% lots of toys and turkey, potatoes and veg. X

ilovesooty · 25/12/2025 00:03

I had my Christmas dinner this evening as I'm having a curry tomorrow. Tolkien only likes his own food. Little Tennyson is firmly convinced that my food is his food and is extremely partial to fresh roast chicken and trifle.

The dog has the best presents of all of us. He's got a Kong, treats to go in it, light up collar, a huge rope toy, two bones and some balls to chase. Because DH and I both went shopping for him!

Handeyethingyowl · 25/12/2025 00:17

I have bought my cats toys in the past. They ignored them. This year remaining Dcat got an Oddballs blanket that was on offer when I got my DH some boxers.

MaarvaCarassi · 24/12/2025 17:47

Can we please have some photos of the happy recipients tomorrow 😄

I second this request! Photos please!

Dontgochasingrainbows · 25/12/2025 01:49

Yes of course.
His Christmas bandana was put on yesterday.
I bought him a special treat (not usually allowed them as he has a sensitive tummy). DH and DC went off a few days ago and bought him many more Christmas treats which are wrapped. I'm not sure what they bought but know they included a toy (which he won't have any interest in as he doesn't like toys). He's only likes food!
I changed his bedding today so he is now snoring on a fresh bed.

caringcarer · 25/12/2025 02:28

Dogs getting new nail trimmers and 6 mini tennis balls so 3 each and dog treats to chew/eat. Cats getting treats. Cats have been loving the boxes the gifts have been arriving g in buying online. All will get turkey in a splash of gravy.

WeAreNotOk · 25/12/2025 03:22

Absolutely they get presents, they are so excited. To anyone thinking they don't know, they most certainly do. One year my dog took presents from my parents dog's pile and put them with his, still wrapped!

My cat loves any kind of soft blanket, my heated throw in the airing cupboard and soft dressing gowns.

Mine likes sleeping in the drawer under the bed where I keep my jumpers.

Cherrysoup · 25/12/2025 14:24

Heck yeah! New soft toys, one of which is bigger thimble, but he loves cuddling toys to sleep and it will be hilarious to see if he transfers allegiance from his current favourite toy (damp and on my knee where he mouthed and cuddled it to sleep earlier)

SecretWitch · 25/12/2025 14:53

Yup. I bought little mice and soft jingly balls for my indoor boys and my little feral colony
