Is your pet getting a Christmas present?

Maggie the dog has a Christmas bandana on, and I've just wrapped up a(nother) soft toy.

I couldn't leave her out, big softie that I am.

Does your pet get gifts?

Our dog has quite a few. I don’t usually take it quite so far but kept forgetting that I’d bought toys in the sales and put them somewhere safe, only to find them all a few weeks ago 😂 have gifted a good chunk to friends and family’s dogs and wrapped the rest for him. His favourite bit is ripping open the wrapping paper! He’s had one today and will probably have a couple tomorrow, and the rest will be spread over the next few weeks as bless him he can get quite overwhelmed. The cat also has some special food and treats and a nice new blanket (not that she’ll be interested - more likely to sleep in a box!). I loved all the Christmas cat toys that I saw but stopped myself as I know she would ignore them! People who (are able to and do) buy their pets Christmas presents are the best sort of people 🥰

Of course. They’ve already put their presents for us under the tree. And we’ve bought special nuts for the squirrel who raid the bird feeder…

This is my favourite ❤️ we’ve splashed out on premium pigeon food for the local flock. Not lucky enough to have a squirrel!

jarviscockatiel · 24/12/2025 19:46

They've all got a gift:
Rabbits - Christmas biscuit treats
Gerbil - Christmas tree nibbles
Chickens - BBQ flavour Pringles
Cockatiel - enormous pack of millet
Beardie - large tub of locusts
Tortoise - big tub of strawberries just for her
Fish - new aquarium decoration.
I think it's taken longer to wrap and label theirs than my husband's!

Yes. He loves opening presents. He’s probably got about 15/20 including from family and friends

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 24/12/2025 19:50

Yes
but he’s already had a huge piece of expensive steak from my Christmas Eve lunch which he didn’t appreciate.

A lot of tax evaders on this thread 🤨

Tax. Any excuse to post photos of this orange fella! (I had to use the clean up tool to edit the photo of him lying on his bed to keep it PG)

DDog has about 8. All wrapped up and his stocking is ready and waiting for Santa Paws as he has been A Very Good Boy this year.

chattyness · 24/12/2025 21:20

Yes our dog gets spoiled rotten, toy, treats and a good Christmas dinner ( meat, sprouts, swede & 1 wee pig in blanket) just small amounts though not a massive blowout. I can't wait to see him unwrap all his new stuff !

Ohwhatshoestobuy · 24/12/2025 21:25

Oh yes. The 3 cats each get their own special Christmas themed cat food and a few catnip toys and treats to eat 😀

Hephzibah64 · 24/12/2025 21:25

My boy cat has a present from my nephews two cats and he has sent one each to them. The magic of Christmas in cat form😀

Oh god he’s adorable what a gorgeous boy! He looks such a character too! 😍

coffeeagogo · 24/12/2025 21:29

My sweet pup will get a new chuck it toy and a soft toy that he will love shredding. He will also get a full roast dinner (once a year at Christmas) he is very spoilt and I love him so much

Fuckitydoodah · 24/12/2025 21:30

Yep, Ddog has a new soft toy waiting under the tree. We have to make a special trip with the DC to choose it. I wouldn't be surprised if my in-laws have got him something as well.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 24/12/2025 21:32

I love my dog to the stars and back but no, he's not getting a present. He's a dog, FFS.

pollydollydoodlealltheway · 24/12/2025 21:33

Yes present and a stocking and my family have laughed at me for wrapping it all!

Blanketenvy · 24/12/2025 21:41

Ddog not that interested in toys other than soft squeaky ball which she can't have whilst parents dog is staying as he's a destroyer so they are both getting wrapped treats and old toys. Dcat have tuna lollipops 🤣 and will be getting a new cat tree next week once they have recovered from the trauma of visiting dog. They will all get turkey tommorow and ddog has presents from a couple of very sweet friends.

He’s a wee monkey but we love him 🐈

Popfan · 24/12/2025 21:44

Our cat has a new catnip fish and a little mouse toy, he loves these.
We've also bought the same for my brothers cats (his 'cousins' 🤣)

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 24/12/2025 21:46

DCat got a new cat bed and a catnip double sided face catnip toy from me. She doesn’t like either of them.

She had some of my smoked haddock last night and loved that.

How do you do tuna lollipops is it put tuna in ice lolly mould?

Laveritas · 24/12/2025 21:48

Definitely, and he has his own advent calendar filled with treats! He reciprocates by buying us presents and cards..he’s very adept at internet shopping for a cat 😂

PhantomOfAllKnowledge · 24/12/2025 21:48

They've got a tin of 'Gourmet' food each. Knowing them, they might well turn their noses up at it 😆

ETA they are cats, if that wasn't obvious 😸

I'd like to say I was that inventive although am sure that's possible. It was just a supermarket offering! They absolutely love them tho (it's just freeze dried tuna I think!) www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/bonkers-purrpops-lollipop-cat-treats-tip-top-tuna-flavour-x4?deeplink=true&gclsrc=aw.ds&&cmpid=cpc&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20291373287&utm_content=shopping&utm_term=%7bsku%7d&utm_custom1=&utm_custom2=759-449-0952&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19671802987&gbraid=0AAAAAD17J_B99_Q_e5_Wap0Rpne6NUM1U&gclid=CjwKCAiAu67KBhAkEiwAY0jAldeFFlYA0jA1HMJnUypz2w3bwpJYoB_6nQUYOqZIFJYHWBHP_WL4GRoCiI8QAvD_BwE
