Maggie the dog has a Christmas bandana on, and I've just wrapped up a(nother) soft toy.

I couldn't leave her out, big softie that I am.

Does your pet get gifts?

My lovely dog Summer has already been routing through hers. Having watched the grandkids excitedly unwrap the presents my partner and I had bought them she's been sniffing around the Christmas tree for hers!

She's 12 so long in the tooth and knows exactly what's about to happen! They're not daft are they lol

DCat is getting a cat sleeping bag and some fancy new Christmas food bowls for her turkey. She also has a stocking with lots of treats she’s not usually allowed (because she’s fat). It’s our first Christmas with her and we’re all ridiculously excited. She’ll be sharing crispy duck with us for dinner (see fat 🤣). She’s been tucked up reading a book with DD all afternoon. She did not like her festive scarf though!

PruthePrune · 24/12/2025 18:35

No but Dcat will be getting tuna or salmon tomorrow

lostinchaos · 24/12/2025 18:37

My wonderful cats and dog have stockings with their names on and presents from the whole family... toys, treats etc. They are part of our family and never get left out. Sadly one of my cats had to be put to sleep yesterday though and I am so sad not to be hanging his stocking with the children's this evening. 🙁

Here’s Kitty sitting on last year’s Christmas present & thinking about whether to walk along the curtain rail.

Yeah, our boys will each get a rat tomorrow. Couldn’t have a big slap up dinner and leave them out!

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 24/12/2025 19:02

DDog is getting this bad boy cos hes my best and curliest boy.
And the massive bone when we've finished with our leg of lamb

Crunchymum · 24/12/2025 19:03

Yep. The cats have more presents than DP 😳 (a pack of Dreamies each, a catnip toy each and a cat laser each)

To be fair DP and I only did gifts for kids and cats.

Nincompoo · 24/12/2025 19:09

Of course!

The dog has a selection of new PetFace toys under the tree - they’re the only ones he can’t kill! He knows they’re his, presumably they smell the same as his other toys, but he’s being very patient and will enjoy opening them tomorrow.

The cat basically lives outside and treats us as if our sole purpose in life is dispensing food so she’ll get some turkey.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/12/2025 19:13

Yes. He has two soft toys (one from each child), some puffed pigs' snouts and an ostrich bone. He's going to be a very happy boy!

Edited

Don't give him cooked bone, as it can splinter and hurt him.

MardyMillylala · 24/12/2025 19:15

Oh yes! DCat has a dreamies christmas stocking, a christmas stocking full of toys & a new soft toy from the grandparents. She'll also get trimmings off the turkey.

whatohwhattodo · 24/12/2025 19:16

It’s our kittens first Christmas. They have a pile
lf different snacks and toys. They are food monsters so will have some chicken, gammon, sausage and cauliflower cheese for dinner.

Thursa · 24/12/2025 19:18

Of course. They’ve already put their presents for us under the tree. And we’ve bought special nuts for the squirrel who raid the bird feeder…

Bobbedhairdontcare · 24/12/2025 19:19

Even though he cannot read our chihuahua Bruce is receiving a Christmas pudding toy with his name on it.

Nobumsonthetable · 24/12/2025 19:20

Of course! He has his own personalised stocking that goes up with the kids’. He’s getting doggy treats and soft toys (for him to eviscerate😁). He is also wearing a Christmas bow tie and bandana. He’s a very festive doggy 😁😁

DinoLil · 24/12/2025 19:20

Yes. One of us has to have a gift to open tomorrow! And she will share my lunch.

Alwaystired23 · 24/12/2025 19:20

Yes, they have a tin of tuna.

Feelikedancing · 24/12/2025 19:21

Feelingleftoutagain · 24/12/2025 19:23

Yes, my lovely little pup (he's 10, but acts like a puppy!) has packets of turkey jerky, soft toy and will have some turkey and beef tomorrow, yes he will be dressed as Rudolph but only when we open pressies,

Mrsknowitall · 24/12/2025 19:28

Our cocker spaniel has had her adventure calendar and has 2 stockings filled with new toys that she’ll be opening while our children open theirs 😊

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 24/12/2025 19:31

DH has bought him a bouncing pig which I think is going to freak him out, so I’ve also got him a string monkey with squeaky paws - he’ll definitely enjoy that.
