A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Badenoch has written to Starmer to ask him to block mullah's from getting asylum in the UK. That seems pretty sensible. If he has any sense, you'd think he would get behind that.

Perfectly reasonable letter to send.

But it’s really only for show. No Iranian cleric is going to come to the UK. They’d be shacking up with the ‘Little Satan’!

Russia’s the most likely bolt hole.

EmeraldRoulette · 11/01/2026 12:03

@CruCru thank you

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame but what would put them off coming here? It's pretty ripe territory for them.

I think NK stands for North Korea.

Yes, or DPRK.

They’d have no life at all here. There aren’t many Shia Muslims in the UK relative to Sunnis. And MI5 would be round theirs for tea every afternoon.

Even if some murderous bonkers mullah did try to get in, I can’t see even this government opening the door.

EmeraldRoulette · 11/01/2026 12:11

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame you and I have completely different views of the UK.

Right, going for a run…

He really is a gormless prat isn’t he?

He’s the Danny Devito to his brother’s Arnold - if you can forgive the analogy.

Caught him on TV last night at a conference. He's absolutely unhinged now. Mad bulging eyes raging from the pulpit like a few priests I've come across.

SpaceRaccoon · 11/01/2026 13:01

Thank you to Burnside on X for the phrase "brittle little bitch" in relation to Starmer's wish to ban it.
He's honestly so disturbing - stood there with tears of rage in his eyes, presumably after the bikini stuff pushed him over the edge, like one of those shit teachers that loses control of their emotions in class.

I don't know how to share Instagram. But a very logical man explaining Trumps strategy re Venezuela. China buys 90% of their oil. It buys Irans oil. Between the two it's 70% of China oil imports. Without oil they can't take Taiwan, or anyone in the southern hemisphere.

Trump playing the long game. America doesn't need the oil but won't let China have it.

That does seem to be the emerging view.

Would have been better if the Venezuelans had deposed Maduro themselves. But in this fucked up world you have to take wins where you can find them.

I suppose the silver lining is that them doing it might have resulted in a lot of innocent bloodshed, like the poor Iranians just now. At least the way it was done was pretty clean.

True.

I just hope a few well placed strikes on Iran are now more likely too. That may well have a similar dual effect of lessening bloodshed and cutting off oil to the Chinese Communist Party.

Russia was my first thought. Repeat of Assad.

But Assad was a brutal dictator rather than a religious zealot.

The Supreme Leader in Iran, and his circle of clerics, are full on zealots. Martyrdom could well be their final destination of choice.

Yes, that’s possible. But it’s amazing how strong the attachment can be to billions of embezzled dollars hanging out in Swiss banks. A long odds bet on paradise v the certainty of a here and now of staying alive and enjoying massive wealth tends to favour the latter, even among the most zealous.

Maduro has allegedly funnelled out hundreds of millions of dollars as part of his escape plan. He left it too late.

My question to emeraldroulette had nothing to do with being pro-Starmer. I know this is a thread for people who don't like the Labour government. It is clear from the opening post!

And how about you, @AnnasFangs, what are your thoughts on Starmer?

Upstartled · 11/01/2026 14:23

Because your prolific but short posting history would suggest that you are very pro-Labour and you seem to be hanging about the place demanding people clarify their thoughts for your approval.
