I think I may have put this on the wring thread.

Apologies...

You just know Starmer has done good because up pops an article about him taking a flight to see the Lionesses (months ago!)

Merry Christmas GIF

They are also having to grapple with the fact that undoing Brexit slowly is very very hard to oppose in a popular sense. In a way, history (after I am dead) may well show that the cliff edge Brexit delivered by Boris was the best way to ensure rejoining happened. Because we can now see people having to oppose each strand of what EU membership was, and find little to object in each.

Also the Boris Brexit rather cur off the oxygen for the future. If the UK had remained in the CU and/or the SM, then it would have provided fuel for continued "we have to leave" political pressure (that may well have saved the Tories).

As we move on from the emotions and just read the logic, it was inevitable that the plan delivered by the party and man without a plan should start to unravel within months of the Tories disappearing.

The only thing Remainers have to do is repeat the mantra "Brexit is done". Only be careful - it really upsets some (as any posters who have persisted in the obsolete "Brexit" forum will know).

Merry Christmas one and all !!!

I see Pochin is not happy after being mocked for her racism yesterday. Boo hoo. It is a GB News clip, I am afraid. Note she completely avoids the subject.

I caught a grovelling apology from Carol "vile" Malone yesterday. It was really needy pleady. Apparently she slandered someone, then when challenged about it on air doubled down, and (presumably focused by a lawsuit) prostrated herself, trying to pretend she has a defence (she doesn't).

I wonder how much GBNews pressured her ? Because their arse is in the sling too ....

Daily Mail link, because it appeals to my sense of irony when some c'n'posters whine about lefty sources

GB News apologises for claiming Meghan Markle's mother was in prison

Carole Malone repeated a baseless conspiracy theory she had read online that Ms Ragland was jailed when Meghan was a child so Thomas Markle had to solely care for their daughter.

"She was pressed on this by the panel, who said he 'had never heard that before ever'. Carole doubled down and said the incarceration was 'years ago', adding: 'Do you want me to give you a precise date and time?' "

That response is so reminiscent of the mumsnetters who post shite on here but can't back it up.

Malone a really horrible, bitter woman. I can imagine her frequenting certain MN threads. I hope she is having some sleepless nights over this.

I missed that yesterday. I have to admit it was a very good (and thoroughly well deserved) "sick burn" as my young chums might say.

Starmer does seem to have a line in dry wit. He should deploy it more often.

It would serve her right. If she had climbed down after the challenge she could have squeaked it out. By by explicitly refusing to, she opened the doors to a defamation tussle. I hope someone has drawn Doria Raglands attention to it.

Has someone called OFCOM ?

I can't remember where I read it, but some young women are giving up on relationships with men because of the unrealistic expectations from men that porn is creating. For example choking during sex. It is very sad.

Hmm. yes. Most of this is done already. Eventually, they may catch up on the idea that teachers, largely female as a workforce, are also the victims of male misogyny - at structural level but also from male students and teachers, daily.
