Interest rates down, excellent news.

Erasmus, excellent news.

3.5 billion to eradicate homelessness.

Education on sexual health and the disparity between a healthy sex life and the pernicious intrusion of porn regarding young males.

All excellent.

cardibach · 19/12/2025 17:50

Well, well. I, for one, am completely shocked 🙄

Kylie beats Wham to the Xmas no1, is that positive news?

That's definitely a song for us all to enjoy if we are ever in a care home for Christmas.

And the 10-year gilt yield is down this year

And expected to creep lower in 2026

(can't remember who used to mention it, one of our other friends I think)

Re the files - some are coming out, others being held for redacting. FFS will someone stand up to him?

No, they are all in N Korea mode kissing their orange leader.

What happened to the MN Christmas emojis?

[hhmm]

Omg, shit just got real. Where have they gone?

No they're not.Angry

Have bumped an old thread in site stuff about the Christmas emojis.

Saucery · 19/12/2025 21:01

They are just the regular emojis you can get anywhere. I expect all MN’s bandwidth has gone on those stupid adverts that take over the entire screen unless you choose your browser wisely.

Exactly @SerendipityJane .
I saw so many leave billboards in the rural area where I used to live.
NF and BJ did such a number on people re Brexit, in my opinion.
BBC still reporting with their bias twist.
Anyone see Charlie this morning banging on about brussel sprouts price rises?

I was spared that. Charlie Stayt is not someone I warm to. I am very much Team Naga when they are on screen together.

Isn't that getting close to being actionable as inflammatory language? Smacks of Trump/Jan 6th rhetoric and we all know how that went.

Is it Tory bantz to talk about machine gunning politicians? I suspect it will be suggested that language is quite normal.

But really we all know that Johnsons just desperate for a bit of attention.

Should get himself on Truss’s YouTube channel.

Or he could keep crapping out Op Eds for Viscount Rothermere.

No, it's hyperbole (although MN really isn't the place to try and discuss this).

And it's hard to think of a person in Britain who would be lower than Boris Johnson on my list of "Who to take advice from" - whether it's the Brexit he made a complete Horlicks of, or parenting.

All he is doing (to the extent that it may be coordinated) is take the pressure off Reform and Farage as Brexit fall guy.

SerendipityJane · 20/12/2025 10:31

It wasn't quite that direct - he didn't say who would be doing the machine gunning.

Interesting that some (possibly one 😀) on "this thread" feel they have to allow a bit of latitude in debate. Compare and contrast with the machine gunning any quote from a Labour politician attracts. Especially if it is easily cut and pasted.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2025 10:43

Article is behind paywall so yeah I didn't read beyond the headline Wink
