I know. But I also know from this thread, amongst others, that people take offence at anything said that isn't absolutely written in stone. Clearly the announcement will be more solid than whatever else we have heard, that some pp have objected to.

It's all very sad and I can't imagine how their other children must be feeling.

I’ve never heard of any lawyers working for free. Presumably there’s some kind of legal aid system there for people who have no money.

His father bailed him out countless times. Not sure his surviving siblings will be so hospitable

Press conference just finished. He's facing homicide charges but is still undergoing medical assessment as to whether he is fit to stand trial

I'm not sure it has anything to do with wealth and success. A lot of kids are absolutely insane these days, very politically-motivated and ideologically-driven. The more wealth and success you have, the more comfortable and easy raising children becomes.

The MAGA should think how they'd feel if Trump was killed by his son. Aa I said, Trump zealots (which isn't the same as people who voted for him) seem to be beyond empathy for any perceived as 'enemy'. I think Steve Hassan is right that it's a cult.

RR produced a film in 2015 based on his sons life and multiple drug rehab attempts called Being Charlie. His son was the screenwriter.

The character doesn't come across as particularly sympathetic and even says so in the film

So they chose to believe and stand by their son.

So nothing to do with his entrenched substance use that apparently began when he was 14 and led to 18 stints in rehab? Who do you think radicalised him and why did it result in the horrendous deaths of his parents? At this stage all we the public know is that a terrible crime has taken place and the person who has been charged with murder has a very long history of drug use and mental health issues

I found this news very odd. That the Obamas planned to visit him and his wife the night they were murdered.

I am scratching my head a bit at the timeframe stuff, secret service checking etc.

Because that article is not very clear. At first I read it as the Obamas were going to their house. But thinking more, it could be they were all due to attend the same Hollywood event somewhere else. The article does not say.

And there is the 2 hour call with Eric Idle before they were murdered. So Bob was on the phone, when they were supposed to be at a function with the Obamas ?

Actually, I just tried to do a timeline. Saturday night the party argument. Sun afternoon the Idle call, Sun evening bodies found, Sun night son arrested.

So it would have been a Sunday evening Obama event.

Fixed my head now and given myself a talking to. However, the right wing conspiracists will be hard at it.

Also Idle said he spoke to Reiner "last night" - presuming Idle was in the UK it would have been afternoon for Reiner.

When I saw the trailers for the Spinal Tap sequel that was out earlier this year it all seemed so poignant. The original joke obvs being a 60s band who are seen as past it by the 80s but played by men I guess in their 30s. They seemed really frail and now everything linked to this will have the way he died as a bloody footnote
