Is it just me or have TV chat shows gone really downhill?

She's lived in a different country from her poor wife for many years & says that she doesn't fancy her anymore. Yes you can have a good relationship and live apart but it does seem odd.

How?

I suppose her modus operandi is to play with the incongruity of a posh old lady spouting grotesque, coarse tales and using vulgar language. You either find that funny or you don't. I don't particularly, because I don't have any expectation of posh old ladies to be polite and prissy, and have nothing against swearing. As a comedy ploy, it seems a bit lame to me. That said, I watched the GN show and didn't find her particularly offensive.

When she told the anecdote on Graham Norton the first time it was only one man, so she's making up stories which encourage sexual predators who fantasise about the women they accost being 'up for it' and selling out other women in the process. That's the worst kind of woman.

You weren't offended by the fact that she wanked off three total strangers in a forest then wiped her hand on the grass? I was clutching me pearls so tight, although I guess I shouldn't mention a pearl necklace in MM's presence.

Well I found the story horrid, but I think it's part of her "I don't believe in shock" and "I'm unflappable" comedy persona.

If I were a psychotherapist I'd imagine there were all kinds of reasons this sort of behaviour appeals to her. It doesn't appeal to me and when I see her doing this shtick I'm aghast not at the content, but at the troubled mentality behind it, which is not really entertainment in my view! It's a bit like seeing someone harming themselves.
