I am still in Whamageddon.

Efacsen · 01/12/2025 16:39

Richard Hughes has resigned as chair of OBR

BestIsWest · 01/12/2025 16:31

@Piggywaspushed I am also out of Whamageddon. I got into DHs car for 30 seconds to move it out the way of mine on the drive and he’d left the radio on Smooth Christmas or something. Sabotaged. Coincidentally I was on the way to Sainsbury’s.

Typical. One year, I made it to Christmas Eve. No idea how.

Wrong person according to Badenoch, does she not realise that Reeves doesn't control the OBR?

I believe that Liz Truss would disagree that this was the OBR’s worst mistake.

PM Keir Starmer oversees Downing Street’s Christmas lights being switched on.

Community hero Samuel makes history as the first-ever person to switch on the Christmas lights who is not PM

Someone taking responsibility for what happened in their department?

It'll never catch on...

If previous examples are anything to go by, he'll be back in 6 months.

It leaves Manchester Piccadilly and stops only at Stockport on a direct 2 hour train journey to Euston. Stockport station is huge. Very much like Clapham Junction.

I walked into a classroom today to ask another teacher a question and the kids were choosing Xmas music.

Walked into and one chose “last Christmas” 🤦🏼‍♀️

My classroom is remaining Christmas music free until next week!!!

Banning Christmas ? Surely not ?

I could contribute Finnish. I would need to run it past my DIL first as Google translate struggles with Finnish and the results can be hilarious.

The English to Welsh makes strange word substitutions.

Forgot to clear the quote.

It's not New Year's Day until Last Christmas is playing.

LlttledrummergirI · 01/12/2025 18:25

Dh put the Christmas cd in the car for me this morning. Luckily he could only find the shit one, so I'm still in!

Chris Mason on the news trying to imply that Richard Hughes resigned because of but Labour. His cherry picked report left a lot to be desired. I would suggest he recaps what he learnt in journalism school.

RafaistheKingofClay · 01/12/2025 18:28

Not sure why he doesn’t just go and work for GB News. It’s what he obviously wants.

Edited

I’m sure in some other parts of MN one week day would indeed be a ban, destroying our heritage! In the real world I think we’ll all cope, or there’s always Christmas Radio - 24 hours a day. Wonder how many of the people that worry about our Christian ethos attend church except maybe Christmas Day? They’d get short shrift from most of the people that attend my church.

Absolutely not 🤣🤣

I do all the extra interventions and it’ll be Xmas mad from next Monday.

my students have even put in a request for hot choc and marshmallows which I’ve granted.

But it's still not happening until next week 🤣🤣

countrygirl99 · 01/12/2025 18:42

Sticking to Radio 4 is a good strategy for Whamageddon

countrygirl99 · 01/12/2025 18:42

And online shopping 😁

BestIsWest · 01/12/2025 18:45

@dandin, out of curiosity, have you tried ChatGPT? My tutor thinks it’s quite good as online translators go. I’m curious.

AIBU to think that Whamageddon is ruining the high street?

countrygirl99 · 01/12/2025 18:59

@DanDin when I ask Facebook to translate a post in Finnish it produces an unintelligible word salad. Could almost be a Trump post

DanDin · 01/12/2025 19:04

@BestIsWest, I haven't tried it, but I'd need to think of something to translate to see if it would mess it up.
It told me to use Google Translate. Smile

@countrygirl99 , I imagine it would. Does it try to use English grammar?
