A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

My favourite Reform MP was Rupert Lowe.

Agree

redange · 30/11/2025 21:07

Leeds West and Pudsey looks touch and go with the left around 52%, but not out of the question for a gain for Reform.

This story doesn’t seem to be blowing over:

Starmer and Rachel Reeves ‘misled cabinet to justify budget tax rises’

www.thetimes.com/article/714550eb-ffff-4f79-a0fb-d2a742a77d4c?shareToken=1e81328233cd75fe3a9dc457f8751926

Its bad isn't it. Both the conservatives and the SNP have written to the FCA. I find it astonishing that a chancellor is facing a possible investigation by the FCA. I'm also gobsmacked that Starmer and Reeves appear to have lied to cabinet also.
I would love to know which cabinet minister said this to The Times:-
One cabinet minister said: “Why did Keir and Rachel allow the country to believe for so long that we would break our manifesto by putting up income tax by 2p when they would have known that wasn’t true?“At no point were the cabinet told about the reality of the OBR forecasts. Had we been told, we might have been in a position to advise against setting hares running on income tax and giving the public the impression we are casual about our manifesto commitments. The handling of this budget has been a disaster from start to finish

I like your thinking. Wes?

Rupert Lowe and the incident with 'Cry' Baby Zia Yusuf was not the best advert ! Farage does not like being challenged, by people who are potentially as good as him. That's why he ditched Ben Habib as well, through Habib has probably gone to far with his relationship with Mr Yaxley. Meaning he has gone through the Rabbit Hole.

Not necessarily! Grin
Could be anyone, I suppose. Apart from Rachel Reeves.

Very true it has been. Why anyone on here is back slapping each other over playing people is madness. Labour have lost a lot of political capital and they’re low already.

Trouble is that cabinet minister, in fact all of them have been tarred with the same brush and will be blamed equally. Ignorance is no defence.

redange · 30/11/2025 21:18

I bet it is Liz Kendall..

I think it might be Liz Kendall who in other circumstances could have been a half decent Minister with (centre views for the Labour party) who has been dragged into this shit show. That is why she was given the job of 'death', secretary for State for Work and Pensions.

Yeah, you're right. They will be furious if they genuinely didn't know. I can't help wondering why nobody in cabinet asked privately what the forecast was, but thats by the by.
I think this might be the end of Reeves.

I’m starting to get that feeling too, if the cabinet really weren’t taken through basic facts clearly, they are up to their necks.

redange · 30/11/2025 21:31

Nuthatch.

Just Analyzing Ashton Under Lyne seat, Raynor's vote has been going down since 2017 and 60% to 43% in 2024. However, what is really interesting the Right wing Parties have collectively achieved over 40% i the since 2015!
This again shows there is a largely small C demographic and Raynor is toast !

They should resign from the cabinet. Have a nice long letter of resignation published explaining why.

They won’t.
No grace.
They will cling on by their fingernails.

Tinselisthestrategy · 30/11/2025 23:19

Just thinking tonight about how truly sinister this government is. I'm trying to understand the rationale behind so much of what they're doing, and I think it comes down to control. Attacking private education, attacking the (moderately) 'well off', i.e. people who go out and do life on their own terms, family farms, family inheritance. You're not allowed a legacy. Property ownership. Bringing in digital IDs. Carbon 'allowances', net zero sabotaging our prosperity. And of course the benefit system changes which brings us closer to accepting universal basic income, because honestly what is the point in striving for anything if you're going to be insulted and punished? Just get your allowance from the government. Cradle to grave, with the grave part hastened along by Kim Leadreaper et al. Increasingly draconian approach to speech issues, jury trials going.

It's hard not to become a bit tinfoil hatty when you start to put it all together.

I didn't vote Labour, but did feel the Conservatives deserved to lose the last election (although I voted for them). I never thought they would be this bad though. Controlling and cutting us all down to size is clearly the overriding goal.

In a nutshell. Reading everybody's comments, I'm glad I didn't watch Reeves this morning.

Did you freeze today, as expected? 🥶
Hope you had a nice time.

Many news outlets said it was pretty boring, with Reeves just repeating herself. The best bit apparently, was her avoiding KB's eye. I binned the recording: life's too short.

We had a brilliant time, thank you. We were on a friend's Sunseeker, which is fast, and had enough time to get to get SE of the IoW where the carrier was biding her time in order to arrive in Portsmouth at her scheduled time of 1230. Then we kept pace with her until she entered the harbour. Police in RIBs and launches kept civilian craft outside the 300m exclusion zone, but we still had good views. It was quite a sight, with pilot boats, water cannon and naval helicopters overhead.

You should have turned round and headed south towards the 'Bay Of Biscay' and claimed Asylum in Santander. If the tanks of The Sunseeker were large enough.

However, if you were a wealthy Asylum Seeker, why not arrive on a Predator '80' !

redange · 30/11/2025 23:36

I bet there might be an exodus out of Poole Harbour that looks like Wacky Races. Reeves did not put a 100% tax on Private Yachts. Oh Shit i have given her an idea.....
