A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I've voted Tory, Labour and Lib Dem in my time. I'm also a floating voter!

EasternStandard · 30/11/2025 20:00

I’ve always voted for either of the two major parties. That configuration seems to be kaput.

TheNuthatch · 30/11/2025 20:01

NoWordForFluffy · 30/11/2025 19:57

Yes. But it isn't wrong to not want to vote for a party you think will be as much of a disaster as the current lot (though I appreciate that not everyone has that opinion; it's not 'bashing' them to vocalise doubt as to their ability to run the country).

No, absolutely. I wasn't referring to you. You don't go around insulting them (like others on MN). You share your opinion of Reform policies etc, which is fine.
I think I get defensive of Reform supporters because I have been on the receiving end of what they are now getting.

Yeah, you see it on Facebook a fair bit as well as on here. You'll never win people round by insulting them!

I do think there will still be a fair few 'shy Tories' out there, especially given the last GE result. I also wonder if people will be less likely to try out the unknown after this Labour disaster.

I posted this on a previous thread, but the tories are receiving more in donations than any other party - more than double what Reform are receiving, and just above Labour. I think quite a few are turning back to the conservatives. We can hope Smile

If Labour keep giving Kemi ammo (and there's no reason to think they won't!), then I do think they'll become more popular.

They're the only party to say they'll bring back the two child benefit cap as well. That will also be popular with voters.

They've recently started showing their policy hand more, which is what was missing. Definitely interesting to watch. To
kind of quote Mark Twain: reports of the Tories' death are greatly exaggerated!

SpaceRaccoon · 30/11/2025 20:27

My favourite Reform MP was Rupert Lowe.

My favourite Reform MP was Rupert Lowe.

He seems like quite a sensible chap, from what I see of him.

This is a very good tool because you can calculate combined Left/Right votes for each constituency.

Definition of disingenuous: Reeves bleating on repeat she's "asking" working people to contribute more, when the reality is there's no legal way to stop her thieving from us at will.

The so-called black hole was was bare-faced lying, pure and simple.

In a nutshell. Reading everybody's comments, I'm glad I didn't watch Reeves this morning.

Did you freeze today, as expected? 🥶
Hope you had a nice time.

Despite being in Essex I lived in North Cheshire 'Golden Triangle' from 1995-2017 and was active in Conservative NW Politics.
Nuthatch
Thus i find it Hilarious that in Ashton Under Lyne that Angela Raynor is polling around 24%

Yep that’s Labour

But her definition of 'working people' changes with the wind.

So if I'm still working, but have no salary, does that make me a 'working person' now? 🤔 😁

I say hilarious because in 1997 I canvased in 'Ashton' for the Conservatives and we got 18.5% which was not too bad under the circumstances . Just checked wikipedia for election results. But to see Labour down to 24% 'WOW' and Reform around 44% which does not really surprise me because apart from the Asian influence, the Working Class demographic are largely small C Conservatives. This is why Raynor is thinking of trying 'for Hove'.

18.5% is bloody awesome in Ashton, particularly in '97. I think most of the red wall will fall. Labour are toast.
As you say, explains why she bought the Hove flat.

Sorry about my Grammar Spelling and punctuation some times. My 'Grammar School' (EX) Teacher mother is 'appalled' by how far it has fallen..

(Mother I always have had Autism, Dyslexia unlike the chosen one, my sister)

A bit of humor ....

justasking111 · 30/11/2025 21:05

According to the app plaid will walk all over Labour. Their Achilles heel is the nation of sanctuary welcoming all asylum seekers. Plaid have said exactly the same. It's not going down well.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/11/2025 21:05

I do think we're far too far from a GE for polls to be anywhere near accurate. But it is amusing to see current Labour constituencies falling!

REEVES constituency

If I was a Conservatives voter there I would be voting Reform. No question.
