A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ikr! Our dogs are not even allowed upstairs, yet there are dog hairs in the bathrooms. 🤯 I've found them in the chest freezer too.

Twistydog is a stunner 😍

Wow the freezer is a new one! Will check next time I get something out 😂

There are some people on Mumsnet who are simultaneously very self righteous but also incredibly naive. Frankly, I'm pretty exhausted of people hating others who have done well for themselves. In real life I only know one person who has such a huge chip on their shoulder - they believe they were denied the opportunity to be a pilot or a doctor (no idea on how they were specifically denied these 2 very different career options...). We don't see them much anymore as it's become quite tedious.

The cure for envy is kindness (not just to a special caste/DEI groups or self only)

The cure for pride is Humility

The cure for sloth is Diligence

They'll be able to afford private education now.

Most likely to spend it on booze, botox, weed and tattoos. Kids won't benefit from it at all. Makes me so cross.

I have two large hairy beasts.

Hair situation is out of control. I really ought to do some cleaning. I did some work though, so at least I'll get paid something.

Funnily enough I was accused of making my cleaner come to the workhouse on a thread today when I suggested that the logical development in today's environment will be to put all tax payers in the workhouse.

I don't have a cleaner. I had to let her go because of the budget.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 15:27

Yes they could put all the workers in the work house and feed us on gruel. Take our money and move the calais men and benefit scroungers into our houses. That has to be the labour wet dream.

They will be buying up property in the 3rd world with it. They will become super wealthy as a result. They are buying at the bottom of the market there.

Think back at the cost of property in 1995 and now after 20 million migrants and their children started living here. The 3rd world is going to have huge numbers returned from USA, Canada, Australia and Europe. The cost of property is going to rise there like it did here.

It won't matter so much here as anything we buy and sell with crash back to pre Blair prices.

The Polish family that kept uk savings low and saved a fortune over there has had UK taxpayers via tax credits and UC for example, basically pay their mortgage and house off for them, will sell up at the top of the market, ho home and be laughing like the 3rd world lot at the lefty middle class mugs that made them rich and called their own names.

Yes this.
Probably fantasising about removing passports from higher rate tax payers.

I am looking forward to working class (as that will hurt the MC ego more) comedy to take the piss out of middle class bullying mugs in years to come, it's a painful learning curve that's needed, similar happened here after witch hunts, they were shamed into learning the lesson.

This is a letter I posted to my local newspaper about Covid 19 in July 2020

The catastrophic problems presented by the ongoing pandemic of the Covid19 jointly combining a global health emergency and an economic catastrophe. Covid19 is unrelenting in taking of lives and delivering of economic carnage. The (UKs) four governments have taken a coordinated approach in their employment of security politics. Legislating to flatten the death rate at a historic cost of reducing the emancipation of civilians. However, the effects of lockdowns over sustained periods ensure excess deaths occur. These consequences evidenced due to widespread economic hardship, which unleash depression and domestic violence. Therefore, situations arise where measures imposed to save lives, might facilitate excess deaths. This questioning whether lockdowns demographically discriminate on who they save and at what cost to the whole of society. This has been highlighted when looking at the catastrophic failure of what was Government’s stated ambition. This, being to ensure a ring of steel, was placed around Care-Homes and the extremely vulnerable. This policy could have been seen to have been an unmitigated disaster, being beset firstly by a lack of (P.P.E) Personal Protective Equipment. Secondly, the lack of coherent and consistent planning from the Government, has ensured many thousands of vulnerable or clinically disabled, people have needlessly lost their lives.

I've done a bit of housework so caught up on yet another podcast. Robert and Steff also unimpressed by the budget, but more importantly seemed aghast at the shenanigans over the non-existent black hole.

I wonder how Reeves is going to get away with this, but also am worried about whatever swivel-eyed ideologue they would get to replace her.

They really have ballsed up, both Reeves and Starmer.

The diehards think it’s not down to Labour, it’s a few on mn or something.

No the OBR, the media and the electorate really do think Labour are that shit. Add the unions now too.

I’m not sure why they get all invested in posters on mn tbf when pretty much everyone is pissed at their party.

At this stage I'm beginning to wonder about a paid element......I just don't understand how anyone can be so blind to public sentiment and er facts.

Yes. Either that or local party members, spreading the word so to speak. It maybe why the calls of bot are so loud. They are projecting.

@twistyizzy utterly beautiful 😍

I'm struggling here as well with the Xmas clean, trying to motivate myself to do 5 mins here and there.

However presents are nearly all brought ,just need to wrap.

twistyizzy · 30/11/2025 16:04

I have never gone troll hunting or called "bot"....although been called it a few times! However I do now think there are either paid elements/party members. It is the only way they can go around swearing black is white. Many of the comments echo the Labour propaganda posts on SM.

It’s weird, they think posts on here are what, causing this? Not the actual cock ups by their lot.

How do people reach that level of head in the sand.

Tribalism and identity politics

TheRubyRedshoes · 30/11/2025 16:06

I think ,could be wrong but because of the cult like nature of "some" on the left ,more are likely to be activists than not

Idk.
There are less of them, but those who are left seem more entrenched. Its weird.
I read a post the other day saying that unemployment had not risen. I mean, come on.

Twisty may have a point 😬
