A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Regarding foreign nationals: In terms of the Nationals from the Republic Of Ireland they are considered in law to have the same rights as Citizens of the United Kingdom so have every right to vote, benefits etc.

From what I gathered so far, 1. welfare spending and 2. keeping Labour MPs sweet to stave off a rebellion within the party.

Trevor Phillips was good on Sky News this morning questioning RR I thought. The more I hear and read, the angrier I am. FCA investigation and sacking needed, possible criminal charges imo. Dread to think what comes out in the OBR update tomorrow.

Thanks yes I think that must be it. Party more important than country as we already know.

Some media outlets suggesting markets will react badly to any cover up and that might force Reeves out.

redange · 30/11/2025 13:45

Thus, in theory we could have Prime Minister who was not a UK citizen but a Irish Citizen. I don't know how that would play out, but with this Labour Government, anything would be possible !

That needs changing, same with the commonwealth votes.

McSweeney some may say has no loyalty to his own country and I understand many in Ireland call the family traitors, so how can he be loyal to here?

I have access to an Irish passport too and have more respect for others and am not up myself that I would want than to try to rule another country. Could it be that people like Tulip and Morgan rule here as they can't get to rule their own home?

The Irish should have self determination as should the English IMHO. Scotland and Wales are taking the piss of the English who have not got their own government too, as are commonwealth people who don't offer reciprical rights offered to them here.

Starmer and Reeves need to go, but it worries me who will take over because the whole aim from day 1 was to install a socialist government to reward the feckless and illegals. It is what Labour do. Tax, tax, tax and hand out our money and benefits like sweeties.

They will line up someone like Angela Raynor to take over. Socialist through and through.

At least our younger generation can see the chaos and corruption of a Labour government and this will be reflected at the next general election - that's if our youngsters hang around that long - why would you?

I can’t believe anyone thinks they’ve handled this well, there are still a few.

Even if Reeves / Starmer stay I’m pretty sure making as many people as possible loathe you is not a winning political strategy.

People can’t stand them.

It won't be long before their MPs turn on them again. Reeves has only silenced them temporarily. Facing the growing anger from their constituents will bring it home to them once again that in all likelihood, they'll be out of a job at the next election.

At least Angela hasn't access to a second passport like much of the government who have loyalty to other countries and can move there if they fuck up here.

I can't stand the Angela BTW, I prefer her to the Home office minister or Steriliser Streeting.

If they have any sense while they're MPs they'll pay off any loans etc it's three times what they'd earn anywhere else.

The only people I have see supporting Labour are either retired public sector workers and welfare claimants. It kind of says it all.

Making a guess at votes then
There are 9.2million welfare claimants ( not including pensioners)
and 2.8million public sector worker pensioners
( latest figures available 2020 for pensioner figure )

That’s 12 million
Voting age population is just over 45million ( 2024)

12 million is quite a sizeable chunk so it’s no wonder Labour are keeping them sweet

I’m guessing they’ll throw in some sweeteners down the line for other sections of the population.
I think they really believe they’ll be voted in again and that is there only aim

Julen7 · 30/11/2025 14:06

Centre for Social Justice reporting that a salary of 71K is needed to match a large non-working family on benefits once 2 cap limit is removed.

I've done long long days at polling stations. We see a lot of pensioners during the day. Working people before work but mostly in the evening. We don't see the long term economically inactive in large numbers.

Its one reason why Labour always poll under what the Opinion Polls say they are Polling at (if they have not committed election Fraud) That is a much bigger thing than anyone realizes and I have heard Candidates from other parties ' mutter' it quietly to themselves, because they will not be believed . I would not be surprised if 'Election Fraud' of even 250-500 votes has allowed 5 or so seats to turn red at every election for the last 50 years.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 14:33

How are they justify paying families on benefits the equivalent to an earner on 72K after tax and paying no child benefit to a family on the same money? This is what I don't get. If the benefit families are broke, then by logic, so is the 72K tax payer. Why is one more deserving than the other. I need someone to explain this to me as I need it to make sense.

When you raise this with people, they tie themselves in knots trying to justify it. It is quite something to behold.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 14:35

I need a good interviewer to ask this question.

They can't admit they have been taken for mugs. I feel bad for them, they are usually what I call, right thinking parrots.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 14:37

Well it pisses me off and I'm fucking angry. Someone needs to get this out there. The more tax payers who list child benefit know this, the better in my opinion.

redange · 30/11/2025 14:38

Soon you will have the absurdity of a child at Private school with parental income of £75 k according to how they give out benefits, will be poorer than a family of three children that has never worked.
Absolute insanity, especially as they think everyone at Private School is 'stinking rich'.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 14:39

I'm tempted to go and write it on billboards and roundabouts. Then I can join the roundabout shaggers or whatever they call them.

Catatemyhomework · 30/11/2025 14:40

Yep it's fucking bonkers and there is no way anyone can justify it. I want to be a politician interviewer. I will keep on like a dog with a bone.

I have made errors myself in the past. What people need is to return to accepting they aren't an opinion or perfect and to hear others opinions. They made this country stupid and a mess due to their fragile egos and rubbing even more fragile egos of not well or evil manipulators.

Yes it's interesting how "flag shaggers" doesn't seem to apply to the flying of Palestinian flag at NEU conference etc
