A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's stuffed with vitamin c if kept in the dark 🕶️

twistyizzy · 29/11/2025 07:39

Morning All.
After a very stressful week at work and a really hostile disciplinary meeting, which I was leading, I am having a very chilled + drunk weekend getting ready for Christmas 🎄
Not even twatting Labour can ruin that! Even though we are on a hugely reduced budget this year I've managed to find a couple of free things to go to and we are picking up the real tree next weekend.
I have a list of rooms to deep clean and once they are done this weekend I can relax my way up to 25th Dec!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/11/2025 07:51

Kemi really seems to have kicked a nest of hornets.

If even a fraction of the mean and misogynistic comments about her were made about any other female politician there would be uproar.

Don't forget rascist!
So calling out an incompetent Chancellor is misogyny but making rascist and misogynistic comments about someone you don't like is fine?

twistyizzy · 29/11/2025 07:53

Shows they are finally rattled by her at least

I have a list of things to do. Mostly cleaning.

Some gardening as well though. Need to plant the tulips for next spring. Enjoy doing that, and strangely enough the cleaning too.

I don't mind the cleaning once I've started, it's the starting that's the hard part 🤣

Yes, once I get off my arse and actually start doing it then I quite enjoy it.

TheRubyRedshoes · 29/11/2025 07:56

Same here deep clean ,lights will go on outside on the first but we won't dress the front yet. Garden needs putting to bed .
Also getting a real tree.

TheRubyRedshoes · 29/11/2025 07:58

I have a treat lined up when I've done a good amount of work this time it's the new drama on Netflix from the homeland team .the beast in me and Emily in Paris.

Catatemyhomework · 29/11/2025 08:00

I'm doing the same. Cleaning the house ready for the tree next weekend. Need to do the bathroom too as it's minging. Tonight we're going to sit down as family and watch Stranger Things new season. I'm excited!

Catatemyhomework · 29/11/2025 08:02

Love that we're all cleaning the house this weekend.

TheRubyRedshoes · 29/11/2025 08:02

@redange I love any old clips like that and the Ealing comedy films

Of course. Look at the ‘Rachel from Accounts’ threads Labour lot still pouring over that. For Kemi it’s next level vitriol. She’s not a white, male leader that’s a factor, she doesn’t fit the look they’re after.

She’s also rattling them so that’s good.

EasternStandard · 29/11/2025 08:15

Blimey just read more. What’s wrong with them. Nasty lot aren’t they.

I think her achievements make them feel bad.

AlexandraBee · 29/11/2025 08:18

Ohhh I hate cleaning and cooking. All in all if it was my job I’d be ‘Less than satisfactory’... However I’ve ordered this floor cleaning automatic mop thing, for which I have high hopes.. Should be delivered this weekend. If it’s any good I’ll let you know! Anything to make things easier.,

We’ve also got an early Xmas dinner with some family today, at ours. So that’s all Waitrose, down to the frozen glazed fancy carrots. And some left over crackers from last year. All I need to do is the timing thing, wish me luck 😃.

Ohh yes we’re buying a small tree today too (small one tho) and might pop into Asda to get some decs for it, as the big tree is fake (with lights, game changer), and that will go up next week. It looks great but i love a real tree for the smell etc. Hopefully the little one we get today will be enough for that. Those ones with roots are good then I’ll put in in the garden (where despite good intentions, I’ll ignore it to wither and die like all my other plants. Should get up really (for a second coffee) but with one dog gently snoring on me right now, it won’t happen for a while! 🎄

They are angry because she was effective.

True. And because as a black woman her success makes them feel inadequate.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/11/2025 08:33

Of course.

No one is opining about Ed Davey.

CambridgeSingers · 29/11/2025 08:39

I was also planning a deep clean, a spot of diy. You can’t say we’re not an exciting bunch!

I have a new bird feeder I'm excited about.

Morning all, we’re away for the weekend so I missed much of yesterday’s posting and probably won’t keep up with today/tomorrow! Nothing too exciting - we’re in Liverpool for a DC competition but hoping we might get to swing by the Christmas Market before we come home. Took us almost 5 hours to get here yesterday!

Happy weekend of cleaning/tree buying to you all - that’s my plan for next weekend!
