A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I like your Dad 😊

Yeah. He's great. He was born in 1934 and lived through a lot. He loved Margaret Thatcher. He always voted Conservative but didn't like the last 14 years of Conservative governments. Called them liberal wets. He's never voted Labour. I think he's despondent. He just says he's sorry for the young but glad he won't be around to witness the final destruction. It's quite sad really.

‘Employers will now have up to six months to summarily sack workers who don’t pan out – unless they’re the government, in which case people have to wait till 2029.’

😂🤷‍♀️

Catatemyhomework · 28/11/2025 20:59

I feeling a bit despondent myself tonight. It's been a long week. Not sleeping well and just feel a bit lack lustre. Maybe I shouldn't take it all too seriously. Hard though, when you're trying to plan your life.

What's the legal aspect of all this nonsense ? Can we cancel this budget if it's based on lies?

To think that the new tax on £2m will eventually be harmful to ordinary folk?

Check out this current thread in AIBU (don't post though). Hilarious, the usual the rich can afford it and £2,500 extra is going to have no effect. Again they cannot understand its not £2,500 its every other thing and this is the start of 'Fiscal Drag' on Property Values .

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2025 21:52

We were talking about Sunak's response to the budget the other day. Here he is (you can tell he feels vindicated!):

Oh, I don't know actually. Has it got a date on it?

This has made me think are people in their 50's and 60's in the real 'firing' zone for the destruction of the United Kingdom. We being the group who 'hopefully' have some years left, but remember Britain as it was a great country !

Here is Rachel Reeves who does not know a brand new Electric Car does not need a MOT when asked how brand new electric cars will pay the 3 pence per mile charge. Clueless Pillock..

Getting the PM job when he did was a poisoned chalice. The country was fed up of the Tories by then.

He'd have been so good at a different time.

Same, same.
I follow him on IG. He's doing some good work.

I'm certain that our business wouldn't have gone under if Sunak was still in No.10, and Hunt in No.11.

I heard the quote on the radio and do not doubt it, however i am trying to find some info on the net confirming this. They, do not want this type of info to get out.

PropertyD · 28/11/2025 22:51

I found ONS stats stating 33% but in 2023 but 40% does sound right. Nearly half.

Yes. I think we are. My dad's generation and possibly your parent's, is nothing like the 60s. I always felt generational difference as a kid. Who's parents were old (to me) when I was a teenager. They taught me well though. They were skrimpers, savers. We didn't have much, but I know they loved me. A bit dysfunctional, but honestly, their thoughts and views were theirs, inoffensive, thoughtful and through a lived life lens. My mum loved the music but my dad wasn't keen on the 60s. Always said it's where the rot set in.

I don't know this is London 1968 and it looks Fantastic.

ttps://

It does! I was a 90s raver but my parents were pretty straight. They liked a drink. Used to brew their own. So many demi John's of homemade wine in the house.

Catatemyhomework · 29/11/2025 00:24

I sampled the sloe gin tonight. Like a Dr's remedy. It's delicious.
