A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Tbf, DH - as a PE teacher - dosses around in my eyes so the teacher haters are quite fair in that respect.

😂

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2025 17:34

PE teachers are a breed apart!
I shudder at some I had, but it was ‘ different times ‘ lol

EasternStandard · 28/11/2025 17:35

TheNuthatch · 28/11/2025 17:32

I need to stay off that thread.
Red mist 🙈

Same I know the thread title is catnip to all that but bloody hell

Just remember polling in the ditch for Starmer and co and responses are not indicative, hard though!

The DM's headlining Labour's "black hole" lies now, and the BBC news channel is currently reporting it.

If it sticks, the whole corrupt edifice could tumble round their ears. They lied to get into power and immediately set about forcing their communist ideology on the British public, including workers' rights, ID cards, and buying the votes of the feckless by removing the two child cap.

There has to be a vote of no confidence, surely?

EmeraldRoulette · 28/11/2025 17:45

@DancingFerret this lot will stay in. I'm very confident about that.

It's a long march for these sorts of people. It actually blows my mind a bit how power hungry people plan over such long periods of time.

I wouldn't call workers rights "communist" though but that's going to be a semantic thing.

DancingFerret · 28/11/2025 14:01

One of my FB "friends" is an archetypical champagne socialist living in a leafy village in the Home Counties, so I wasn't surprised after the Budget to see the following comment from her:

"According to the Sky News calculations, I'll be about £40 worse off need to drink less wine, but that's OK if it helps lift 450,000 children out of poverty, especially if their parents are already working but still struggling to cover the cost of living due to the legacy of Liz Truss's horrific budget.
Happy for my taxes to pay for education and health, and not lining Tory pockets."

Piety and naivety rolled into one, cheering on Reeves as a modern Robin Hood.

Did a real person actually post that?

The lack of self-awareness is staggering

Try one of Thomas Sowell’s books:

Basic Economics: a common sense guide to the economy

Economic Facts and Fallacies

I think Arthur Laffer is the most common sense of them all

Yes, a real person - a 50-something mother of four.

Their maths is suspect too

Just catching up with this OBR thing

OBR challenges claims Reeves dropped income tax rise due to rosier forecasts

Guardian headline. This is similar to Rayner blaming two firms and getting statements in return.

Labour really do lie don’t they causing other people having to speak up.

Yes they lie constantly. They also accuse the media of lying when they get caught out, as they did when Starmer and his team briefed against Streeting.

Now for some serious stuff , absolutely disgraceful stuff for Torsten (Reeves) Bell lying to the public about OBR forecasts to instigate a £26 Billion tax raid.

If we had a 'Magic' Wand and the country could afford, what is being spent the very last place I would currently place it would be on abolishing the child cap. 74% of the families in the UK that have more than two children have a Mother who was not born in the UK. Hence, the Money we do not have to spare is not even going to the people who in an ideal world deserve it.

The so called extra £15 Billion of Benefit Spending instead could go on to create something like the old Remploy where Disabled people's work was valued. Alternatively a small amount of money could go into a program where Autistic 'graduates' get guaranteed a two year placement in a Corporation with the Government paying the salary of the Autistic graduate (HFA) Unemployment levels for 'Graduates' with (HFA) is off the scale considering abilities and qualifactions.

This is what you could do to actually 'benefit' society if you were frivolous with your spending, but at least there would be some good. No we get Money thrown down the drain to pop up non 'Working Class Families' and population replacement.

On a positive note, those who know about my adopted sons problems with schooling and the suggestion to join a Private school 2 years down have now suggested he could repeat year 10 next year. This is based on what academic levels he finishes this current year at. The current school have upped his prospective Maths/English GCSE grades from 2/3-3/4.

Catatemyhomework · 28/11/2025 20:39

Have to laugh. I bit the bullet and phoned my 91 year old dad. He's on form as usual. His words "Britain has become a squalid socialist third world country."
Hard to disagree!

TheRubyRedshoes · 28/11/2025 20:40

@TheNuthatch wow that guardian article is blistering ! They even quote starmer accusing rishi of breaking some rule when he said labour would have to raise taxes !!

Yes kemi really shone through however.

@redange agree and agree the money could have gone on so many schemes and areas that would give real benefit.

Most likely to move to the Private School in September.
