A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Sorry, but I am now going to withdraw from this thread.

Sorry you feel chased off. I've really enjoyed your posts. It'll settle down, it always does, so might be worth coming back in a while.

Please stay. I think we should all report any disruptions now.

I agree, @Damnthetorpedoes, don't go. Don't give them the satisfaction. They want to stop us talking; let's keep going. They're rattled and know they're doomed. It will go our way in the medium term.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2025 19:38

Does anyone have the 'interruptatron' image used on FWR?

Flash.

Reeves will allow people to defer paying the new tax until they move house or after they die amid concerns that “asset-rich, cash poor” homeowners – especially pensioners – could be forced to sell their homes to cover the cost.

It means some families will be hit with another layer of inheritance tax when their loved ones die, on top of the existing 40 per cent death duty….

Hahaha the nursing home will want first dibs on house sale income. If they don't get it then the council will have to pay for care. There are no winners.

As pp said it'll kill the housing market.

Feeling similar

No prizes for guessing what I hear when I hear the words "please stay"

Or did you need a clue and a distraction?

"please stay...

I'm never gonna post again

Derailing has knocked my interest

Though it's easy to pretend

I've other stuff to dooooo

Should've known better than to try again

The wasted quiz that I had written

So I'm never gonna post again

So few posts are true , woooaaah"

<cue saxophone>

(I really did mean to post combining politics and hidden song references at some point 😂but I think I'll keep off here for the mo)

So you'd better hope you're happy where you are because that's moving ruled out.
It does rather mean that the current system of selling a home to pay for care home fees will be blown out the water though - the government will have to cough up for that.

June 2024 article. He wasn’t wrong about most people disliking the Labour gvt in no time. He was wrong about them showing any kind of ‘fiscal restraint’ .. Interesting article.

‘Voters have had 14 years to observe the faults of one political party in subatomic detail. And 14 years of relief from Labour’s. That is going to change soon. So what will the public dislike about the probable next government?

In a word, statism. Labour exists to spend money. No disgrace there: it is the quickest route to some of its social objectives. But with taxes and public debt so much higher than when Labour last governed, the pain this time will be sharper.

Here is a prediction. After some initial fiscal restraint, Labour, in frustration, will borrow more — on past evidence, much more — than markets currently expect. If taxes rise, too, the public’s reaction won’t be the kind of grudging assent granted to Gordon Brown’s penny on national insurance in 2002.’

Sorry for being a princess - just temporarily fed up with the nonsense. People are suffering (including some of us) and we don’t always have infinite patience.

Returning to the topic!

Legolava · 15/11/2025 19:44

That was an admission of collusion with another poster to derail and disrupt. MNHQ better act or they are enabling it. Don’t let them win. The left leaning posters have bullied enough off this forum with tag teaming. Enough.

Sorry, but I am now going to withdraw from this thread.

I've a couple that haunt me, they're active over the road. Think they take it personally that I don't tow the Senedd line just because I live in the principality eejits

So don't go just glide on past.
