A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ah but he’s getting on. His bladder doesn’t hold as much Port as it used to!

🤣

Falseknock · 14/11/2025 14:24

Who made the mug did they take the idea from the University of York?
They used David Cameron's face as a Colossal Tit. Well they weren't wrong he walked after the Brexit vote.

Geez a bit of a fall from pomp. The last interview I heard was him going on about having pillars in his ambassador house.

I know someone who would love that. (I bought him the Jacob Rees-Mogg calendar though so might be overkill).

That’s a flattering almost chiselled jaw photo of KS. Where’s the podgy custard look he usually carries..

There’s a fine line between laughing and crying 😂😂. You don’t want to ruin Christmas totally do you? 😆

We’ve got one too. We didn’t choose it, it was already in the house we bought. That’s how I know they’re bloody impractical for a majority of uk homes. I wouldn’t choose it for sure.

We’ve just moved to octopus ‘cosy’ tariff for heat pump homes (or whatever). We’re going to see if it has any impact on our energy bill at all. Somehow I doubt it, but we shall see.

Edited

Totally agree, I'd never in a million years take out mains gas for one. I hope the switch helps your bills.
The one thing I'll say for ours is that it's a great improvement on storage heaters. But then almost anything would be.

A reminder to a few following. Labour are in the shit due to Labour. Not anyone on these threads. See if this goes in.

That was my first thought too!

I'm a 🐑 and have ordered a variant on the tit mug from Etsy!

Yields are blowing out.

5 year +2.36%
10 year +2.59%

But hey, what do the markets know?

Rivalled · 14/11/2025 14:59

I’ve decided that tits mug is what my DM wants for Christmas - the only person in my family who likes KS less than me!

Damnthetorpedoes · 14/11/2025 15:14

If you leak 10% of a budget, to float the idea for support, you can pretend it’s a leak, but leak five entirely different budgets, and you are basically using the media as a focus group.

Less a leak, and more of a prolapse.

Reeves has no guiding economic strategy, lacks the guts necessary to hold her corner in the political bear pit and, worst of all, lacks political savvy.

I think it might have been a liquid lunch today.🙄

CruCru · 14/11/2025 15:38

The problem is that, at this point, much of the political pain of raising income tax has now been felt - but Reeves won’t get the benefit of having actually done it.

This is probably why she always looks like she’s been crying in the loos at work then bunged a load of make up. She does need to raise income tax but her leader says she mustn’t. Now that she isn’t, the markets have gone mad. God knows I am no fan of her but this is ridiculous.

Absolutely - it’s why she cried in the summer - and as much as I detest her, nobody likes to see anyone cry.

The penny must have dropped for her then.

EasternStandard · 14/11/2025 15:48

The 2p up and 2p down was said to only raise £6bn anyway after all. So she did propose it but it was just not worth breaking a manifesto pledge for it.
