A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

Bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's like there's a connection missing. "We should take more asylum seekers, look at how many Europe has". "Oh no, the Far Right is growing".
Well, yes. To the suprise of absolutely nobody. But maybe if they call us all racist a few more times, that'll fix it?

Rexinasaurus · 10/11/2025 16:19

BBC:

  • Biased Broadcasting Corporation
  • British Bullshitting Comrades
  • Biased Broadcasting C*nts
  • BBC we told you we were misogynistic arseholes
  • BBC what happens when one falsifies information

Etc. None really stick though sadly. We need a sort of Brangelina scenario.. Brias something or other.. nope I can’t think..

SpaceRaccoon · 10/11/2025 16:21

DH used to do a bit of freelance work for the BBC. They referred to it as the Broken Biscuit Company. I have no idea why.

#no debate era is over. They can’t get away with calling people racist anymore - for the crime of being concerned about hundreds of thousands of undocumented male migrants - from countries where women are second class citizens - entering our country each year.

EmeraldRoulette · 10/11/2025 16:21

@Rexinasaurus I hear all those things when somebody says BBC. That's what it stands for already.

Oh ok! Shows how on the zeitgeist ball I am 😆

EmeraldRoulette · 10/11/2025 16:23

@Rexinasaurus oh I don't claim to be the Zeitgeist

I've just been surprised at how many people are surprised.

Frankenchino · 10/11/2025 16:31

@SpaceRaccoon

Well that’s the paradox then isn’t it. Italy’s far right promised to reduce immigration and they’ve u-turned on that.

Frankenchino · 10/11/2025 16:35

@SpaceRaccoon

And I haven’t said we should take more asylum seekers.
I meant that we should look at things proportionally and not be manipulated by Twitter or Nigel Farage type sentiments.

38thparallel · 10/11/2025 16:39

@Rexinasaurus

  • I’ll opt for Biased Broadcasting C*nts
NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2025 16:39

What other countries are doing is totally irrelevant. And people are able to come to their own conclusions without needing Farage to tell them, believe it or not.

Anyway, we've established that Labour is failing to deal with immigration. I don't think we need to go on and on and on and on about it.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2025 16:41

If you think you're liable to be manipulated by TwiX and Farage, I'd avoid them.

The people on this thread have come to their own conclusions, from what I can tell.

It's such a left wing problem, thinking that people only come to a conclusion because they've been manipulated. No, actually, we've got there ourselves, and we don't care if the lefties don't like it!

Legolava · 10/11/2025 16:42

Genuine question. Why are you all giving headspace and responding to someone who by their own admission and posting is here to goad and wind you up? By engaging with them is ruining the thread as well. They said they’d be back to wind you up as MNHQ can check. Just grey rock. It’s because other threads are slow at the moment. I just don’t get why people are even entertaining it. The phrase far right is highly irritating.

Ah that sounds too nice. I like a load of broken biscuits to have dipped in tea.

EasternStandard · 10/11/2025 16:44

Yes I think it’s best to skip past tbh

Also my top pick. However I thought maybe it was too coarse for MN tastes.. even on this thread 😂

Frankenchino · 10/11/2025 16:50

And I think it’s necessary that the Syrian refugees in Germany return to help rebuild their country.

What I don’t agree with is the hardline taken by the AfD - returning large numbers at once when Damascus is utterly devastated.

Also - many have jobs and are helping the economy.
So would the AfD likely do a u-turn like Italy?

strawberrybubblegum · 10/11/2025 16:50

TheNuthatch · 10/11/2025 16:06

Yes, and they've returned some to Afghanistan too. Labour are dancing to Farage's tune and looking towards the Denmark model.

The left clearly don't want us to discuss Starmer & Co and the damage they're doing. They only want to discuss Reform, and will divert every debate in that direction.
Again they fight against, not for.

We shouldn't discourage Labour from following Denmark's model for immigration. It's very good, and has proved effective.

It was designed by their Left wing party, which may be more palatable to Labour than exactly the same policies suggested from the Right. Immigration harms the poor more than the rich.

I can’t bear the hypocrisy.

SpaceRaccoon · 10/11/2025 16:55

In general I think it's easier for countries to take large amounts of refugees when they're not hamstrung from getting rid of them - I'm watching Germany with interest.

Pakistan for instance is deporting hundreds of thousands of Afghanis, and over a million have already fled back over the border in fear.

You can indeed just do things, but not if you're Europe.

Frankenchino · 10/11/2025 16:57

@strawberrybubblegum

It’s considered as a ‘hardcore’ approach and perhaps trying to appease the far right. So designed by their left wing party…sort of.

Exactly. This video gives a basic idea how they’ve done it. Down to even taking ads out in Arabic in other countries saying you’re not welcome in Denmark and won’t get benefits, or similar.

Edited

I know. But better to have the incompetent hypocrites enacting good policy by accident than having them enact destructive policy in line with their deluded ideology.

Germany is in a real mess. Like here, only worse. Thanks Angela, they say.

Frankenchino · 10/11/2025 17:04

I spent quite a lot of time in Germany this summer. Didn’t strike me as a mess…
