Who’s put their Christmas tree up?

OP posts:
HollyhockDays · 09/11/2025 20:20

Nope. Not until the middle of December for me. I think instagram has made people start putting them
up earlier and earlier. I would be so sick of it by Christmas if I put it up now!

IfItsPink · 09/11/2025 20:21

No. Because it’s November.

TeenToTwenties · 09/11/2025 20:22

Put outside lights up today as the weather was just right (not windy, rainy, cold or sunny). But won't be switched on for a fortnight.

This is obviously the new normal now putting your tree up in November… absolute madness!

I like to sit and reminisce how in my day (the good old days) the tree didn’t go up a day before the15th December and we weren’t bored with it by Boxing Day!

therewasafishinthepercolator · 09/11/2025 20:22

As much as I'd love to I'll wait until very end of this month / start of Dec.

PractisingMyTelekenipsis · 09/11/2025 20:23

No. Bevause it's November. Advent hasn't even started yet.

ItWasTheBabycham · 09/11/2025 20:24

I did mine today.

Aboutmeabouttime · 09/11/2025 20:26

Up and lit, no decorations yet. It is just a cosy vibe light feature at the moment 😆 makes me happy!

LeavesTrees · 09/11/2025 20:27

Mine went up on the 1st November. I can’t stand the dreary wet November evenings and it brightens things up, I’ve eaten a tub of Heroes too!
In the past I always put it up when our towns Christmas lights were switched on (mid November), but put it up a bit earlier this year.

Flakey99 · 09/11/2025 20:27

No, November is far too early.

I’d like to put the decs up 1st December but DH is in charge and decorates every single room including hallways so several Xmas trees etc. ….

It takes him about 2 weeks to do them all and he only starts 1st December. 🤣

PlatinumEdition · 09/11/2025 20:28

DD and I have been driving around lots atm as she is learning to drive. I can not believe the amount of people who have their decorations up, I'm sure it's getting earlier each year.

I have to say though, as I have had quite a shitty year I am tempted to at least put the outside lights up to bring a little cheer.

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 09/11/2025 20:29

I did see a TikTok this morning that said ‘the earlier someone puts their Christmas decorations up, the worse their mental health’ which I found amusing.

How are you all coping you early birds?

HungreeHipp0 · 09/11/2025 20:30

My MiL. Probably because FiL is working away and so I guess she's thought 'fuck it, I'll do what I like' 😂

ExhaustedPigeon37 · 09/11/2025 20:33

Doing mine next weekend. It was actually DH idea as it’s currently in its bag in the lounge after he had a shed sort out last weekend, along with the box of decorations. He is getting fed up with seeing the boxes and would rather see the Christmas tree! I was shocked when he said about it but I’m not going to disagree! 🎄

Katherineryan1986 · 09/11/2025 20:34

NO! Far too early. I put mine up about 10 days before Christmas.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 09/11/2025 20:37

Fgs no. Mine goes up around 12th-15th December. It's a Christmas tree, not a one-sixth-of-the-year tree.

Holymotherforkingshirtballs · 09/11/2025 20:38

Nope. Mid December here.

WimpoleHat · 09/11/2025 20:41

It’s the 9th November….! So that’s a no. I do have some festive Christmas lights in the kitchen, but that’s because I put them up at great inconvenience in December 2021 and have never been arsed to take them down again.

AmITheProblemOne · 09/11/2025 20:43

No because it’s November

koiu · 09/11/2025 20:44

Mine is up but only because it’s a new one and I wanted to see it in all its glory before I committed to it in December and Dh took ages fluffing it out perfect for me that I told him to keep it up. It’s not decorated though

Arrrrrrragghhh · 09/11/2025 20:44

Er no. It’s Remembrance Sunday. Then I will be celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau Day. It’s November.
I will think about Christmas in December.

I agree with the PP about mental health and Christmas decorations.
Plus it’s mild and fairly sunny here in the SE. Still got flowers out. No need for tat yet and I say that as someone who hates the dark of winter.

Arrrrrrragghhh · 09/11/2025 20:45

I realise I have jinxed everything now I’ve said how nice it’s been..sorry.

stargirl1701 · 09/11/2025 20:47

No. It’s not even Remembrance Day yet.

Interesting! My Mh is awful and I'm one of the last people I know to put the tree up.

Mind you, some of the very early decorators I know I would say have depression. None of them would admit it though. For reasons such as "I love Christmas so much, I'm so happy that I've put my tree up in Nov. Unlike Practising who's miserable and hates it"

FTR I'm not miserable, and I love Christmas. When its actually Christmas!

SpamNSmash · 09/11/2025 20:50

Whatttt? No. No!

It’s not even cold in London. There are autumn leaves everywhere. I haven’t put the heating on yet or taken my winter coat out. It’s not winter, let alone Christmas.

Behave! 🤣
