What will Starmer do if Huntingdon...

Stabbing turns out to be terror related or in a similar vein to incident to recent incidents that were related to immigration ? We don't know the identities yet of the perpetrators. But the fact the Home Secretary is brought in to comment in tabloids and the discussion on LK on BBC today makes me worried its a possibility. The poor people on the train - I cannot even imagine .. ..Starmer needs to tackle knife crime as its rife. What is the answer ? When is there a tipping point ? I don't know but something must be done - I've never paid as much attention other than feeling so terribly sorry for any victims and families. Now I'm starting to get angry when I see anything like this

Just seen the press conference ruling out terrorism.
The problem is, I don't trust the authorities anymore. I have seen them lie over and over again, from relatively 'minor' things like saying a man who says he is woman is a woman, to saying the Southport killer was a choirboy from Wales.

We know they lie, how can we trust them?

This!!

SlothMama14 · 02/11/2025 10:56

So not a terrorist attack. Sounds more likely to be gang/county lines related.

Don’t gangs generally target other people in gangs (with innocent people sometimes getting caught in the crossfire)? I’ve never heard of an incident where random strangers have been targeted like this by a gang.

I don’t know. But the police have said they do not believe it is terror related. Why is that not enough for some people?

What, why would county lines result in innocent train passengers being attacked en masse?

ConcordeSkyHigh · 02/11/2025 10:57

Two psychopaths.

Or some Muslims are horribly preduced against British Western Culture

One thing is to be prejudices/ not approve of Western values, another thing is going on a murder rampage. Requires a massive step up in hate and motivation.

Because of the government we now have. I don't trust Starmer one bit.

You mean you don't like that the truth doesn't fit your opinion....

They have said that currently, there is nothing suggesting terrorism, could be gang related, MH, let them do their investigations.

Pepperedpickles · 02/11/2025 10:57

localnotail · 02/11/2025 10:55

Can't we just wait and see what the police says about the motivation and who these nutters are? They are not young so wtf is going on here.

This is what struck me. They are not young men. These are nearly middle aged men who have had the privilege of a British life, British born. So what is going on here? These are not teenage / young radicalised immigrants, illegal or legal.

Onmytod24 · 02/11/2025 10:57

localnotail · 02/11/2025 10:54

This is what I find surprising with Reform voters. Yes, Reform will fix everything while lowering taxes. But no one explains how its going to be paid for (unless they are planning to sell the NHS but even then I suspect they are mainly after lining their own pockets).

Farage doesn’t want power that might surprise you. He just wants to create division - his low taxes. Better services mantra won’t work everyone knows that.

Greenwitchart · 02/11/2025 10:58

So it seems to be that two men started attacking passengers.

If not terror-related then what?

The fact that it is two adult male suggest a planned attack, rather than if it was one perpetrator who could be having some kind of psychotic episode.

Terror attacks are not just perpetrated by people from different nationality, including British.

I think it is a bit daft to rule out anything at that stage.

There was a stabbing down the road from me a couple of days ago, I think resulting in death. It's received no media attention probably because it wasn't an immigrant or under 18 year old. It happens all the time, it's just a few cases which get all the attention and wind everyone up.

That is true tbf, a few months ago a teen was stabbed at the end of my street with a machete. My cctv caught the boy who did it running down the street with the machete.

Nothing official was ever reported in the newspapers or by the police ( and the police were aware as I spoke to them to give them a copy of my cctv and they said they knew who it was they just hadn't managed to arrest him yet )

dottiehens · 02/11/2025 10:58

People voted for KS knowing about his previous job. Also, knowing how it was going with Sadiq Khan. What were they expecting?
For many honest and integrated immigrants like myself leaving is the only way. We will have the worst as we will all pay for the bad apples and the deranged lefties that defend the indefensible.

Clearly not.. people are stabbed all the time apparently so 🤷‍♀️

My personal experience is that some Muslims do not like us and do not want to intergrate. My son made friends with Muslim boy in S1. He wanted go out to an activity. His father would not allow it, he had to be at mosque. The boy had never seen a movie...not allowed. This is how home born Muslims are being radicalised.

Edited

He was busy then. There’s some families from other cultures/religions/backgrounds/ethnicities that do not allow their children any screen time.

Exactly.

I think we all remember the 'Welsh choirboy'. The repeated delaying of the statement also hasn't helped matters.

The UK public are waking up, and are listening to what isn't being said.

No one really believes two men with knives attacked random strangers in and it wasn't a terror attack do they?

My personal experience is that some people are horribly prejudiced against Muslims.

I have Muslim friends…BUT I have only been told that women shouldn’t be educated by a Muslim man and I have only been told that white girls are slags by a Muslim man. Don’t pretend there isn’t a problem amongst some groups of Muslims.

Don’t get worried about crime @winterbluesspp think the most important thing is no one is concerned.

I cannot understand this. Being uncomfortable about a rise in Reform style rhetoric does not mean anyone is unbothered about innocent people being stabbed on a train. It is possible to be worried by both.
