“You left Europe because you wanted less boats, and you have more boats. You left Europe because you wanted more investment. You have less investment. You left Europe because you wanted more happiness. Now you are depressed."

He’s not wrong!

He certainly is. Hats off to him.

Let's just hope people remember this in future voting decisions!

At PMQs today Starmer ruled out a customs union with the EU. I can understand that mindset, even though this Government has said that Brexit has led this country to the depressed economic state we are currently in.

Edi Rami is absolutely right. Though of course there's always fury and outrage.

If I were Labour, I would make a show of rejecting things and let the public clamour make it look like you were strong-armed into it.

But a Home Office source who was in post as tens of thousands of Albanians crossed told the Daily Express: “Edi Rama has no idea what he’s talking about.

So someone who also has no idea what he is talking about. Notice the linguistic sleight of hand there.

BIossomtoes · 22/10/2025 18:02

A Home Office source no longer in post, aka a previous Home Secretary. Sounds like Patel or Braverman to me.

Randomly, I see there is agreement to bring Lindsey Sandford and Shahabadi home from Indonesia. Yvette Cooper has completed the repatriation agreement. There’s a lot done that never gets heard about - I occasionally wonder re Sandiford which is why I noticed it.

Most of the press don't want to know anything that isn't negative.

Having said that, the grooming gangs enquiry is a mess right now. Labour needs to get a grip. Badenoch can fuck right off, though. She gave not a shiny shit about those women and girls prior to July 2024. She really does make me sick with her posturing. Awful.

Sponsored by Katie Lam. What a surprise

Notonthestairs · 22/10/2025 19:42

“The scenarios involved here are not at all unthinkable - a British citizen married to a migrant partner (of which there are many) earning £38,700 a year loses their job or takes unpaid leave to care for a child or elderly parent, would, six months later, have their ILR automatically revoked. Their children, born and raised in the UK, would risk becoming would risk forced separation and the deportation of a parent”

This would directly impact a number of my close friends and individuals who have been hugely influential in diagnosing and supporting my disabled child.
Slow clap for the Tories.

Desperate click bait attention seeking stuff - unconnected to our economic interests. (Have they costed it or is this magic money tree stuff?)

Why do they want to make the UK look so unstable and unattractive?

I’m beginning to think they just want to bring the house down. Lam is as much of a disruptor as Farage, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if she defected before long. Reform is her natural home.

placemats · 22/10/2025 22:04

One has the feeling that both Jenrick and Lam have hedges and bets.

Badenoch is a one trick pony.

PandoraSocks · 22/10/2025 22:07

I have been reading some of the Caerphilly local FB pages. A lot of support for Reform, but plenty against. Impossible to tell how things will go. This post made me laugh rather a lot, though:

Big day for us in Wales. Yuliia is still doing her great work.

"when you stay silent, others decide for you"

Should be made into t-shirts.

BIossomtoes · 23/10/2025 09:26

She’s a force of nature, isn’t she? Brilliant woman.

BIWI · 23/10/2025 10:15

PandoraSocks · 22/10/2025 13:57

Totally off topic. Does anyone know if there is a way of PMing more than one person at the same time?

No you can’t do that. You used to be able to, but when they moved to the new platform that changed.

I came to post that!
Please, people of Caerphilly…
If Reform get this one sear it becomes impossible for Labour to pass the budget automatically. If the budget can’t be passed before the Senedd elections there’s a massive automatic cut in budget for next year. One of the many ways Westminster hamstrings the Senedd.

We just have to hope, Cardi.

Voting for deputy leadership has now closed.

Yuliia is brilliant.

not much else you can do, hopefully Yulia will galvanise some voters.
such a shame Farage was successful in Clacton im not convinced Reform would have had so much traction otherwise it would have been more difficult for him to agitate possibly less microphone time it’s wedged open the floodgate for the racists & those with throughly repugnant views.
