A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

We went all round the highlands in a Peugeot 106 - admittedly, we had to get towed by someone sensible with a tow rope when we went off road 😂

😂😂 Similar happened to us in a Fiat 500. I invested in a lovely new Mini soon after that.. the Mini is fantastic.. (husband refuses to drive small cars as a breed, he bangs his head on the ceiling 🤣, so he does have a huge suv. Which I dislike and don’t drive).

Yes definitely agree with that but unfortunately Labour seem incapable of doing impact assessments

yeah- or they just ignore them out if ideological spite. (back to VAT on fees again).

He might not go that far but it’s clear he accepts the criticism! I reckon Starmer’s days may be numbered…

It would be graceful to resign so he won’t.

There’s a thing in the Times by Daniel Finkelstein. He says that focus groups now begin discussions of Starmer by laughing.

Rivalled · 17/09/2025 11:15

Wow! 5 percent food inflation isn’t putting money in ‘working people’s’ Pockets either…

I bet I’d love to go to one, I’d join in

Apparently old texts by Wes Streeting are being raked up from years ago on x. I think they came to light a couple of years ago so I don't know if it will come to much but there's clearly a push to go hunting for dirt. I just can't imagine why anyone who is heading for a career in politics could be this stupid though.

Streeting is a leadership hopeful, so I'm not surprised at the dirt digging. Its all such a mess. Any idea what the old tweets are?

I had heard that there were some dodgy historic tweets, but I don't know what they are pertaining to.
That kicking a dog one isn't too bad, I suppose?

So he’s out the running then.

Upstartled · 17/09/2025 12:01

Yes, this one about pushing Jan Moir under the bus is the one cited by Ana Boulter in one of her videos yesterday but she did say there were more.

Absentosaur · 17/09/2025 12:02

Ref. ‘Kicking a dog in the face’ .. you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals.

His treatment of Susan Hall (and others?), is therefore no surprise.

Could this Labour gvt and its people Be any worse? Staggeringly atrocious.

Edited

I am aware of that, I am a big dog lover and owner.
I just don't think that's career ending stuff for a politician

The other tweets re Susan Hall, and throwing people under trains etc would be.

From 2009?? Why is he still in a job in the Labour party? Rhetorical.

TheNuthatch · 17/09/2025 12:12

He does have an air of malice about him. Like something nasty hidden beneath the surface that you can't quite put your finger on.
